The new "King Kong" movie.

Previews look really good. It's even got a T-Rex in it. I'm not sure when it opens, but I think i'm going to check it out. I'm usually disappointed from remakes. But how can you lose with a remake of "King Kong"?

Any thoughts?

It sounds like Jackson went back to the original (instead of the disastrous 1978 remake).

It should be good as the original did have Kong fighting dinosaurs as well.

But even if it didn't...come on. The original was made back in 1933. Surely today's technology in remaking it should be 10 times better anyway, even if it does deviate from the original don't you think?

It's going to be about three hours long and thats cool by me. PJ can do just about anything and make it rock. I saw a pic of him recently and he has gotten very thin, I was shocked.

O_o I sooo want to see that movie. I saw the previews and it looked awesomely awesome!

naomi watts is absolutely one of the best actresses out there. i'm so psyched.

also, i think PJ got his stomach stapled. not positive, though. he looks great these days.

Yeah, my wife was telling me that he was half the man he was during Lord of the Rings. That doesn't necessarily mean that he got his stomach stapled, though.

but i got it from the most reliable source possible!

some guy on a forum like this said so.

Went to see it. Fast 3 hours. good special effects and the best re-make yet I would say.

A great movie. Very good special effects. The movie does drag in a couple of places, but overall, vey good.

Is it safe for kids? I have some nephews who want to see it. :bday:

There is swearing (quite a few using the Lord's name in it) and some of the violence is kind of graphic. If your kids play any of the video games of the day, I'm sure this won't effect them.

If they like dinosaurs, they'll love Kong taking on 3 T-Rexes (that was the best part of the movie! :bday: )

I saw it and loved it; however, the use of JC and GD bothered me.

Yep. I also agree with what someone said earlier, that it was a fast three hours. The special effects were good enough that I didn't think of them as special effects while watching the movie. Still...there is something about the old black and whites that most new movies fail to capture. It was a great movie and worth the time, but the original will always be my favorite.

Did anyone else get the sense that there was a slight animal rights undertone in this movie?

Could have done w/o the cursing, but I still had to pick my mouth up off the floor. The movie was excellent.

Peace V 8-)
