Re: Music Videos!!!

No problem. It sure beats having to load a whole 'nother page just to see a video.

I changed the Title of the thread too. :)

How about a little marvelous worship from LB?

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength they will soar high on wings like eagles they run and and not grow weary they will walk and not faint. :shades

BTW thanks Vic, and guys, be sure to wait for the guitar solo... bonnie

You are welcome.

BTW, we do this song on occasion as special music, sans the guitar solo. :-)

:waving

Now then, that just goes to show ya, the Baptists are ON IT! :lol

I am sorry about no solo thou, that is the BEST part. :yes But not many bands could do it. My son-in-law can, but he is abby-normal about electrics. :toofunny

It's just that we emphasize lyrics we deem as praise and worship and don't normally incorporate instrument solos into a worship environment. My personal belief is that solos can become self indulgent.

Hey, if I had my way, we'd be doing nothing but hymns and Gospel style songs like Soon and very Soon, which we will be doing tomorrow, slightly more uptempo though.

Oh Vic~ I am so with you in this~

How I love the hymns, I have a small collection of old hymnals. I love to read them, and wish one day to sing them to our Lord in heaven... I got to church late, just 15 years ago... so my experience of worship tends to be modern. :shrug

But the hymns are filled with great adoration love to our Lord! I have many many favorites... I'll Fly Away, The Old Rugged Cross, Nothing But The Blood, More Love to Thee, Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, He lives, It is Well with my Soul, Jesus is Calling, When we all Get to Heaven, Pass me not By, Rock of Ages, It is No Secret, My Redeemer Lives!...

Less known but so beautiful in words... Living for Jesus, Faith of our Fathers, Deeper Deeper, Take Time to be Holy, Greater Grace than our Sin, "Are Ye Able" said the Master, Speak Lord in the Stillness, Son of My Soul, Day by Day... gosh I could fill pages. :crazy

And we will have eternity to kiss toward the Son with our worship and praise! :shades

Here's what I call a new hymn... current day.

Under His wings of glory... bonnie

The Old Rugged Cross, Nothing But The Blood, He lives, It is Well with my Soul, When we all Get to Heaven,
These are congregation faves. We do a very inspired version of It is Well, which is my favorite Hymn. Many hymns are difficult for me to perform on guitar, though I do manage to fill in behind the piano and vocals.

Words: Horatio G. Spafford, 1873.

Music: Ville du Havre, Philip P. Bliss, 1876 (MIDI, score). The tune is named after the ship on which Spafford’s children perished, the S.S. Ville de Havre. Ironically, Bliss himself died in a tragic train wreck shortly after writing this music.

This hymn was written after two major traumas in Spafford’s life. The first was the great Chicago Fire of October 1871, which ruined him financially (he had been a wealthy businessman). Shortly after, while crossing the Atlantic, all four of Spafford’s daughters died in a collision with another ship. Spafford’s wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, “Saved alone.†Several weeks later, as Spafford’s own ship passed near the spot where his daughters died, the Holy Spirit inspired these words. They speak to the eternal hope that all believers have, no matter what pain and grief befall them on earth.

Please listen and read the captions.

Ahhh... Vic~ How I love to read of the ashen lives of the saints spelled out for us which blossomed into beauty by His grace alone. :D

Praise GOD for such giant fortitude supplied to his well loved sons and daughters, and His most marvelous love that sutains them... thru evey trial, thru even loss of an only son, thru every firey disaster, thru the lowest of dispair.

I find the words of Mrs. Spafford sharp with anguish ... saved alone, what shall do?

At such seasons human beings have no voice to proclaim him, their hearts are held in the chains of the deepest sorrows, thier eyes are wasted from floods of tears, and their minds rail in confusion unable to grasp such horror... :shame2

:heart Yet these two saints were so gripped by the powerful love of Jesus that they moved on to comfort countless millions thru this beautiful song filled with the glorious comfort they had recieved for the Father. And then to do the fathers work in ministering peace to His people Jerusalem. Surely, they were fitted for this work, thru their horrendous trials.

:clap Bravo Jesus!... :clap3 Miraculous in overcoming wonders is the heart full of His Spirit! May our God of all comfort be praised forever and ever!

Thank you brother, it is well... bonnie :nod
