I think I get the following. Prayer is so difficult and at times I struggle with what to pray. At other times I come before God and ask him to lay on my heart what to pray and I pray.

Truth is we can hope that great prayers work. The real truth is that God answers the prayer we lift up no matter how bad or feeble. I think he delights in our efforts of prayer because it comes from our heart. It's from our heart he looks at. That's what counts.

I pray a lot. Too much ((medication, shock "treatment," brain damage in general...)), so prayer was easier than intense Bible study.

Now, I don't know what happened, but I'm better able to focus on The Bible and other books, too. Still, I focus more on prayer.

Good post.

I don't believe it is possible to pray too much.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessaloinians 5:16-18 NKJV

I believe however that it is possible to pray too little, such as probably in my life. I find myself apologizing to God for not keeping Him consciously in my life more than I do.

I do the same.
