Do you struggle with sin? Do you fear condemnation? Do you try and try but you just keep falling short? Do you often find yourself worrying about your impurity? Your slip ups, remembering every sin you ever did with guilt in your heart?

Stop and listen, free yourself from the chains you have burdened yourself with for there is only One who can bare them, and He died on the cross with them.

You have the truth. You know in your head this to be true. But you struggle in your heart to fully accept it; to truly live free in Christ

Stop and listen. You are no longer a slave to sin. It has no power over you any longer. You are now and forever clean and spotless in Christ, no matter how much you mess up. For every mistake, every sin, there is a drop of Christ's blood to cover you.

Do you not know the authority you have been given over sin and the devil? Are you not aware the position He has placed you in? They cannot touch you, they have no choice but to submit to you because of Christ who lives in you. The very notion that sin or the enemy can even come near you is laughable, ridiculous, bonkers, insane even.

Do the scriptures not say you have been made a rightful heir to His kingdom? Are you not royalty? Do you even understand what that means? Being royalty means you have the power. You have the authority. You have the say in the matter, not your sins or the devil

Cast down your chains, rebuke every notion that you are in any way inferior. Take captive every thought that makes you doubt this truth even a little. Never give it any room, never let it even reside in your mind. Rebuke it, cast it back to hell where only the filthy lies can go. Stand up chosen ones. Take your rods and show the devil who is the real boss around here. Use that fire that burns in your eyes. Let the flames in your soul stir and burn away every lie. You are not just chosen, you are not just strong, you are not just mighty in Jesus name. You are His child. You are forbidden to be touched, to be harmed, or to have your joy taken away. This can only happen if you willingly give it and let it.

And when you cannot stand any longer, the King will carry you and uphold you. He will renew your strength and make that fire burn alive in you again.

Glorious word. Seriously.

Thank you for posting, Blaine. These words are not just an encouragement. They contain Life and power itself. I plan on reading them again soon.

Blessings,

We have been justified and so set free from the guilt of sin, but sanctification is the process of being set free from the power of sin, which is why we still struggle with it. That is, we are not yet fully free from the power of sin.

The very notion that sin or the enemy can even come near you is laughable, ridiculous, bonkers, insane even.
And, yet, we still sin and are commanded both to resist the devil and to “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Pet. 5:8, ESV).

Where does Scripture say any of those things?

And when you cannot stand any longer, the King will carry you and uphold you.
Shouldn't he be carrying us and upholding us regardless? Are we to be doing things on our own?

Where does Scripture say any of those things?

Afternoon, Free.

I read here Philippians 4.

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your sensibleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.

The exhortation was to be joyful even when your present circumstances did not warrant being joyful, but rather anxious. Paul was in prison, yet was encouraging them to be joyful and meditate on that which was of a good report regardless. It's a form of spiritual warfare, because you refuse to meditate on the victories the enemy is achieving but on the good things God is doing instead.

Yes we still sin but the power of sin is death and in Christ there is no such power, Jesus freed us from the power sin had on us so while yes we still sin the power of it is gone it died with Christ on the cross

We also are protected from the enemy in the sense that we have Christ's authority in us and therefore if we stand in this authority the devil cannot touch us

If I misspoke and am wrong then please show me in scripture where what I have stated is indeed wrong. but I would rather speak words of life and be wrong than to speal words of death and be right

The wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). If sin had no power over us, then we would cease sinning, would we not? Sanctification is, in part, an ongoing process of growing in holiness. It is holiness that frees us from the power of sin, so that we eventually cease. Perfect holiness means perfect sinlessness.

Maybe, maybe not. Where is that in Scripture? And what do you mean by "touch"?

It is not up to me to show you in Scripture where you might be wrong; you need to show in Scripture where you are right. Hence my question: Where does Scripture say any of those things? You have yet to provide a single verse or reference in Scripture to support what you have said.

  1. “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you” (Luke 10:19).
