The prayer of an Open Theist

Hi Tan,

I didn't find JM's post amusing at all.

As far as the part of your post that was directed towards me see my note at: Questions for Open Theists From carm.org, and then see Divine Foreknowledge. Thanks, and the Lord bless you.

Hi lovely:

I would like to make a general comment about how this and other related topics have been discussed.

When posters resort to making statement that those of a contrary mind:

1. Are "profaning" the message of the Scriptures
2. Are dishonest
3. Are promoting a message from Satan
4. Should be shunned
5. Are wicked
6. ...and on and on

it should come as no suprise that people are amused. This is not the schoolyard people! No one with a lick of sense will be convinced of the falsity of open theism (or whatever) by the use of such tactics. In fact, I suggest that such tactics backfire because people conclude these are acts borne of desperation in the face of powerful counterarguments.

Those of us who are at least considering open theism have been subject to a number of character attacks, some downright vicious - our allegiance to Christ has been questioned, and on and on.

Actually, you are right, it is not all that funny.....

And, of course, none of these remarks intended to characterize your comportment which has been exemplary, as always.

Drew,

I was referring to the JM's feelings, of course, and in that regard they bring out compassion in me. He seems worn by the tone of his post.

And, I will pray for you as well. It seems you too have "had it" by the tone of your post. I think we can all get worn out from these discussions, and it is from the less than Christian responses we sometimes give, and receive.

I think it will do us good to follow Christ's teachings being truly loving, compassionate, and forgiving with a sincere heart. If we applied it, maybe we really could sharpen one another, and get to the truth of Scripture.

The Lord bless you today, Drew.

Amen to that....

Your lucky you are living in the 21st century. I get the impression that JM would have you burned at the stake for heresy if he were able!
