Face it, the world has been here a very long time.; the universe even longer. No matter the celestial date or the date marked on the Christian Calendar, life, as God designed it, continues and repeats itself. All created living things reproduce; this cycle never changes.
So what is life? How are we do view it? For "Whatever has happened before will happen again. Whatever has been done before will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun." [Ecclesiastes 1:9]
Yet man values their life more than anything else as if they are important in some way...why?
The time was somewhere about what know to be 4BCE; the time was dark and the ruling government oppressed the people with high taxes and military law. The Roman Empire was brutal and left the masses pretty much to themselves. Countless people were sick, disabled, pathetically poor and destitute...miserable. Yet, the Roman ruling class left the Religious Sector to govern their own. The Religious Sector did so with "man-made laws" that served no beneficial purpose; pride dominated.
And here comes the Savior of the world, God in human form, born by a woman, born under the religious Law. The Presence of God was now upon earth, not to condemn the earth, but to seek and to safe all that were lost. The Presence of God was love; the Savior has come to lay down His life for the sick, for the lost, for the disabled, for any and all that would acknowledge the Lord of Host and call upon His Name; to be saved by His Grace for no one had any reason to boast.
This was new! This was miraculous! This was the very Presence of God Almighty in the midst of the throng, the crowds of the dying and lame; yet, for the most part, no one saw His Mighty Presence as being different. Jesus was seen and viewed as any ordinary man. How extraordinary.
Have you ever thought about what it would of been like to live during this time? Have you ever imagined what it would of felt like to be in His Presence, the Creator of the Universe? What Jesus Himself looked like; how you would of responded to His very Presence, the touch of His hand? How Jesus would of responded to you?
Would you of listened to Him...then, followed Him...then, devoted your life to Him...then, even gone out spreading the Message of God's saving grace with the world...then?
Is this time, October, 2012, any different? Is His Divine Presence any different now as it was then?
Do you listen, follow, and devote your life to Him now? Are you actively spreading His Message of Grace with the world?
Is life any different now as it was then? For "Whatever has happened before will happen again. Whatever has been done before will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun." [Ecclesiastes 1:9]
The Presence of God never changes. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." [Hebrews 13:8]
What difference does a "day" make?
