Agua suggested I start a new topic to see if others would like to consider the possible connections between the lesson of the Sabbaths and the way energy interacts with life on the planet.
As we were talking in a different post all life is dependent on a range of energy flows, to little energy and life dies, to much energy and life is killed.
I've begun to notice there are many beautiful patterns about various topics contained in the bible. One of the most out standing is the pattern of the three Sabbaths. Some how I noticed a connection between this Sabbath pattern and energy patterns found in nature. We see them often as life cycles, like between the rabbit population and the Lynx. A wave like rising and falling pulse between the two species.
In addition to this there is another important action or impact that energy has on the physical world. To much energy no matter what form it takes when brought into a place or system that can't process it causes chaos to occur. The energy begins to over whelm the place and starts through everything out of balance and interfering with the pulse cycle of life.
Thus what I see is that the 'Sabbath cycle' is about a built in mechanism that God has created like a pressure relief value that is designed to prevent the energy from overwhelming created life and the balanced ecosystem created to support life.
The rest pattern is essential to be acknowledged if we choose to press past and keep working/growing/consuming the accumulated energy will cause chaos in our societies as well as in our personal lives.
Recall how God made Israel pay back all the missed Sabbath years, there is a far stronger point within that event.
It is impossible to break this law of energy and how it interacts with the planet. We need to recognize when we have 'worked' enough and choose to rest/slow down because if we don't the chaos will stop us anyways but with far harsher results.
One other great example of this is when God choose to rest on the 7th day of creation. He poured energy into the created universe but with his great wisdom he knew when it was time to stop.
