The secret attraction of sin

Hi Everyone! :)

Here's a link showing a fact of human nature we should all be aware of - The secret attraction of sin. After all, what good is a commandment if you can't break it? :)

It's just a cartoon, but it's wisdom is as ageless as all Creation!

I checked the website thoroughly for any viruses and/or spyware and it's as clean as can be.

Best Blessings,

LOL @ the picture. Yes though, sin is called decitful in its many forms in the Bible. We must strive not to become beguiled by it.

God Bless,

Thanks for the humor, pal. 8-)

'Arph'? I detect a new butt-end of inside jokes in the forum coming on... ;)

First a duck... then a cow (yes, you know who you are)... now a dog with bad barking phonics. :-D

(One tends to act silly in the wee hours of the night :D)

LOL, yeah... I already told him my dog can say is name with perfect diction.

Hey Rick! :D

How's it going? Fancy seeing you here! I saved this cartoon because it seems a perfect illustration of "the thrill" of breaking one of God's commandments. I think that's probably the absolute basis of all sin: "Nothing like breaking a commandment to show the Lord who's boss!"

How often have we all seen someone forsake something very good (like a good scratching post for a cat), in favor of something "forbidden" (like tearing up the curtains or the couch ). "The forbidden" seems so much more attractive, even compelling!

Or how often have we all heard of a man cheating on a beautiful gorgeous wife with a fat homely woman? It's just "the thrill" and seeming power of following "self" to oppose God. Acting as our own God is the real secret attraction of sin. Unfortunately, it brings forth death! :crying:

Why is everything I like either illegal, immoral or fattening?? :-?

Best Blessings,
"Arph"

I had to laugh at God's sense of humor when He commanded us not to covet our neighbor's wife or property.
To answer your question tho, I think it's because of the valuable lesson we can draw from the experience; compassion.
