We are shown a picture of the Son of Man on the Lord's day as described by John when he was "in the Spirit." This is the body of Christ, the body of those that overcome. [Revelation 3:21]
The seven candlesticks are... the seven churches. [Revelation 1:20] The Son of Man is "in their midst" yet they are not shown as part of His body. To me that means they are righteous but they are not the elect, not the man child...not yet of His body at the time of the Lord's day.
The Son of Man is the body of Christ, Christ in His body, and His entire body is clothed...."down to the foot." In other places we are told they/He is "clothed with fine linen, white and clean"..."for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." [Revelation 19:8,14] This entire body, down to the foot, wears the fine linen of the saints...the body of Christ is...the saints and the "head" of the body is our Lord.
His head is God..."and the head of Christ is God." [1 Corinthians 11:3]
His eyes....I believe, are symbolic of the man child, those that will be slain for Him.
His feet....These are the witnesses, those that stand on the mount of Olives. Those that are "changed in the twinkling of an eye" for they are those "which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord."
His voice as the sound of many waters...."the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters." [Revelation 19:6] That is the voice of the many that make up the body of Christ.
Girt about the Paps....The word paps is used Biblically four times only and always refers to the female breast. The Son of Man is described with paps! Why? I can think of two reasons. This shows that the body of Christ is male and female...no gender. It shows that the body of Christ will feed, nourish others during the millennium.
- Revelation 1:13-15 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and His eyes were as a flame of fire; And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters.
