"And take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God." Eph 6:17.

"Every Scripture is God breathed..." 2 Tim 3:16.

The first challenge to the Word of God was in the Garden of Eden, when Satan queried, "Yea, hath God said...?" Gen 3:1. When we question the Word of God, we are on dangerous ground.

"For the Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Heb 4:12.

Jesus quoted Scripture in spiritual warfare with Satan: "It is written..." Matt 4:4,7,10.

We are to search the Scriptures to verify what we are taught: "The Bereans were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:11.

Jesus said, "Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess before My Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.

THINK NOT THAT I COME TO SEND PEACE ON EARTH: I CAME NOT TO SEND PEACE, BUT A SWORD. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it.

He that receiveth you, receiveth Me, and he that receiveth Me, receiveth Him that sent Me.

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward." Matt 10:32-41.

Jesus said, "He that rejecteth Me and receiveth not My Words, hath one that judgeth him, the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak." John 12:48-50.

"But be ye DOERS of the Word, and not hearers only, DECEIVING yourselves." Ja 1:22.

Gen 3:24

24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims,
and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. KJV

To eat of the TREE of LIFE...we must pass through the FLAMING SWORD that turns 'every way'!

Wow, I never thought of that - that is great!!!!

Oh, how I love His Word!!!

Yes, LanceEh, Christ has already passed through this sword, but we still get a taste of what He went through for us...

Isa 30:20-21
20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. KJV

As we 'hear a word behind', the WORD of God as given to us by His spirit, we will know which way to go, for the Master Shepherd has led, and continues to lead the way forward, and.....

The water of life, the bread of life, even His blood given for us, and to us ...is all FREE!

When Moses disobeyed the Lord and struck the rock, God charged him with unbelief. Num 20:12. When the children of Israel disobeyed the Lord, they were not able to enter "The Promised Land," because of unbelief. Heb 3:19. Unbelief comes out of an evil heart. Heb 3:12.

Disobedience = Unbelief
Obedience = Faith

Rom 16:26 refers to "the obedience of faith."

"By faith Abraham...obeyed." Heb 11:8.

"Even so faith if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe and tremble.But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Was not Abraham our father (Ga 3:7,29) JUSTIFIED BY WORKS, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? (In response to the command of God)

SEEST THOU HOW FAITH WROUGHT WITH HIS WORKS, AND BY WORKS WAS FAITH MADE PERFECT?

And the Scripture was fulfilled which saith, ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD (faith & works) and it was imputed to him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

YE SEE THEN HOW THAT BY WORKS A MAN IS JUSTIFIED AND NOT BY FAITH ONLY...For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2.
