The Sword that will kill

Of all places...why does God want to start judgement in the church? Why not in the corrupt 'world' first?

Does that explain why some appear more comfortable being 'in the dark' than 'in the light'?

It is not a literal sword...right?Matthew 10:34-36.Jesus came to bring peace but that peace is among man and God.Those who reject God will find themselves at war.

It's kinda like being given responsibility--if you're employed somewhere, and you do something disruptive, you're going to get into trouble. More trouble than, say, if a customer did the same thing. Because you work there, you're expected to know how to act and to act in ways that won't drive customers away.

Or parents--you're probably not going to correct someone else's kid, but you'll definitely correct your own kid if he needs it.

What Scripture are you talking 'bout?
I'm guessing...

"For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?" (1 Peter 4: NASB)

OK, that ties in. But still not following the "Sword that will kill" thing.

Ezekiel talked about God's people being judged by famine, sword, and wild beasts. With only a remnant remaining.

Not really a literal sword - judgement.

Take that sword and cut that 'e' out of judgement, lol. My spell checker used to 'judge' me every time I did that, but it seems to be okay with the 'e' now. But it's too late....I don't put the 'e' in it anymore from habit.

Thanks a lot. I think it was Christ who made the statement that Judgement will begin in the church . Can't remember exactly... I can today see why it would start in the church. I see what HE saw. Hypocrisy, lies, false witness, unforgiveness, murder, covetousness, adultery, fornication, wickedness etc of whatever sort - and people are okay with these

Thanks for providing. I think Christ also made similar statement.

I will speak to it to leave instead. Oh e leave judgement. Judgment.
Done.

You see how I didn't without the need for guns and swords? :hysterical :chin

What's that scripture where Jesus says before you take out the splinter from your neighbor's eye, remove the plank from your own eye?

"You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:5 NASB)
