    Strengthening families through biblical principles.

Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

The Truth vs. evolution

ONE of the reasons I reject other people's add ons to the Bible, is,
that I doubt if, when they're embellishing, (for lack of a better word, I just woke up)
I doubt that they are wholly submitted to the Holy Spirit, and that they are
humble before God. It's about a 95% probability that people who
feel the need to add more to the bible, are not filled with the Holy Spirit, at the time.

To wit: Mormons 'attach' the Book of Mormon and call them the 'Two Sticks', representing them as an inseparable pair;
Catholics have their own Bible with terminology not found in other Bibles.
Therefore, even though their words might be interesting, they are not of God. Why do men have SUCH a hard
time accepting the KJV Word of God, the Holy Bible, as is? Could it be lack of humility, pride,
thinking more highly of himself than he ought?

I was thinking about humility, the GODLY kind, this morning. Remember the woman
who threw herself down to the ground, and bowed her head, in fear and reverence, to Jesus,
and said, that even the little dogs get to eat the crumbs from under the table?
She was begging Jesus to get rid of the demons in her child.
Could we think of ourselves as deserving nothing more than the crumbs dropped on the ground?
And still be thankful?
Are we ready to BOW DOWN, face down on the ground, afraid to look up at God Almighty,
as we repent of our sins? Jesus says we should not fear those who can kill the body, and then, do nothing
else, we should fear Him, because He has the power to cast us into HELL.

Fear and respect, humility, less of me, and more of Jesus.
Humility is a leadership characteristic. Jesus was humble and submissive to God, yet, not so, towards
certain men he came into contact with. He was bold and accusatory, rightfully so,towards these men
who twisted the Word of God, and confused people who looked to them for spiritual guidance
If we start our day, bowing down to JESUS, and put on the whole armour of God, we will do well.
Prophets of God were bold in their message, yet meek towards God, their Lord.

I'm not sure how this thread relates to the topic of evolution. :-? Must be a shoot off from another thread.

"Jesus was humble and submissive to God". . . . . even though he was supposed to be God. What does it mean to be "humble and submissive" to yourself? Is Jesus subordinate to himself? :-?

As for what causes people to not believe the "King James Version" of the Bible, . . . . . . not sure why that version is considered "more holy" than others (probably the abundant use of "thee", "thou" "thus saith", etc...), . . . . . . for me it is less about any version and more about how it has places that contradict the reality of what we know to be true. If these places are put in their PROPER place, analogies/parables, then those contradictions will be no longer . . . contradictions.

Above all that, you seem to think that if anyone doesn't agree with the Bible (and apparently the KJV only), then they are "lacking humility and pride", and are not from God. How arrogant is such thinking??? :-? Even if you go outside of Christianity, Muslims will (and DO) firmly believe that the Koran is "the truth". Other religions will say the same about THEIR beliefs and ancient religious writings. If you were born in Iran, . . . . . I would bet that you would be as firmly devout to Allah and the Koran as you are to the KJV.

I'm Catholic. My NT is just like yours. My OT is just like the one used during the life of Jesus Christ; your's isn't. You should ask yourself why you are using a bible that was stripped down.

That is an erroneous statement. Catholic Bibles and protestant Bibles are identical when it comes to the 66 books that each one share. The Deuterocanonical in the Old Testament of Catholic and Eatern Orthodox Bibles are a subjest for discussion, but to say that Catholics have their own Bible with terminology not found in other Bibles is misleading.

I might add that the Deuterocanonicals were in the Greel translation of the Old Testament before Christ was even born, and THAT translation is what the Apostles used. Catholics hold fast to Apostolic Tradition. I suggest you read this article:
