The Spirit is quite Divinely Purposed to be opposed to and against the flesh.

Gal. 5:17
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

And yes, the Spirit does and will bring those things bolded above TO the flesh, because it is against same. The Spirit IS opposed to the flesh: because of indwelling sin and evil present therein. Romans 7:17-21. And this TRUTH of the flesh, and what is therein IS shown by the Spirit of Truth to be the "reality" of the flesh. When the Spirit opposes, it TRUTHFULLY shows the flesh for what it really is.

And the "flesh" will automatically oppose this exposure. It will claim it is the ally of the Spirit, it will LIE and say there is no sin indwelling it, nor evil present. It will claim the 'whole package' of "us" is only good and only right and only saved. All of these things are workings of blasphemy, IN THE FLESH, opposing itself to the Spirit's Truthful Disclosures.

Any believer who thinks their flesh is pal of the Spirit is looking through the flesh, making a false, flesh imposed coalition where there is none to be had.

The prophets, when they were GIVEN a look at their own flesh by The Spirit, immediately fell into the truthful sights of WOE IS ME, that The Spirit brought them to see:

Isaiah 6:5
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

Many a prophet and believers engaged with God, had the same sights of themselves:

Genesis 18:27
And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:

Job 42:6
Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

By Command of Christ, any disciple MUST hate his own life in order to be a disciple. Otherwise they provably stand in the PRIDE and CONTROL of flesh, which is contrary to and against the Spirit.

Luke 14:26
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Such is the blasphemy of the flesh, in the flesh. It is the hatred of our own flesh, our own life, that distinguishes a disciple, and this HATRED, MOVES US away from it's workings.

To willfully call the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit a work of darkness, rejecting him, is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. That can not, and will not be overlooked.

imho it is widespread but the impression is given and conveyed and accepted that there really is no cause for concern as it is only local and one off - how about you - twinc
