The Democrats have taken over the House and Senate. It is up to them to lead now and show us that they have a plan to win the war in Iraq and the war against radical Islam. We are living in dangerous times and I feel we must win or we will be run over by these murderous thugs.

Western democracies are initially reluctant to respond decisively to obvious dangers. However, when they awaken to the seriousness of a threat, democacies prove to be much more formidable opponent than any totalitarian regime. Democracies that have been attacked eventually rouse themselves to defend their people, territory, and freedoms with a relentlesssness thatdemands nothing less than the enemy's total military destruction.

I believe the only plan for the Iraq war is to win or these madmen will kill us over here in America. They want to eliminate the Jews and Christians of this world. We must pay attention to what they say and try our best to kill them now before we are attacked again.

Folks, we do have a good President who has the resolve to win this war, but the people are kind of wishy washy and seem to think if we just ignore it, it will go away. Many just want to appease them and negotiate with them. When they do say they want peace, it is not a permanent peace, but they just want to have enough time to gather enough strength so they can attack us again. This has been their tactic since 622Ad when Muhamid came into power.

Now we have Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid who are the rewspective leaders in both houses. Are they up to the tasks before them, or will they cave into political correctness and cut and run from Iraq? I hope not. We must wiin this war at all costs and if we have the will, I believe God will be for us and lead us into victory in the spiritual realm. Please pray for our leaders to be led with Godly knowledge and wisdom.

Bush had his enemies on his side when he rightly went against Al-Qaeda where the terrorism truly lies. He had the free world behind him and the US could have taken the reigns as the superpower they are and lead by example to rid us of this terroism plague. Instead the US decided to take matters in their own hands and misdirect the battle.

Iraq was ruled by a despot, but so is North Korea, Sudan and many other African countries. When he turned his focus on Iraq he made a colossal mistake. While he was out accusing and sniffing for WMDs, Iran was planning to make them and North Korea was already threatening with them. While Saddam had killed and oppressed his people, 1000s including women and children were being butchered in Sudan.

Bush CREATED the war in Iraq and took the focus and importance off of NATO troops in Afghanistan where the real war is being fought.

My sympathy and focus is on the US,Canadian and other NATO troops losing their lives in Afghanistan. That is where the terroism lies and that is where it needs to be stopped. By being in Iraq and creating the fiasco Bush has, he has made MORE enemies and terrorists against the West then if they had kept the fight in Afghanistan.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda, people. When it comes right down to it, people are just so hind-sighted that this country can not move forward. The simple fact remains that we had to take action, to do something. We can't just sit back on our haunches and let countries commit terrorist acts against us, but to take action and go to war, we're killing our own people. Choices, choices. Decisions, decisions. We are/have been stuck between a rock and a hard spot, and everyone lays all the blame on Bush. The truth is, he made a decision (one I support) to not just let those who died on 9/11 just be forgotten, and for our troops to not die in vain. We can't just go this far and pull out, not once we have given them their freedom, that would be like strapping the bomb onto them and boarding them on a busy subway. This isn't something that can be solved with a 2/3 vote, and it won't be resolved in a day. People need to quit being so difficult and contradictory and work for the good of the entire country. I don't support our soldiers being killed, but I do support going out and trying to help a fellow country to see how their life could be. If a fellow man is down, it is our chrisitian duty to help him up, no matter how it may hurt us. We did not create this, but we will resolve it, just give em' time and a little support.

America must put the blame in the right place for this war we are in. IT'S ISLAMIC TERRORISTS STUPID, AND NOT bUSH.

I have a question and maybe we should have a pole. Did Sadaam have WMD's, and where are they? I have credidible sourses that say, the Russians took to Syria. What say you?

I agree for the Afghanistan War, but I do not agree with you for the Iraq War.

I think in a broad sense, it doesn't matter. We had North Korea at the time practically waving WMD in our faces. Yet we ignored them. Why ignore them and not Saddam? Any worry we had about Saddam should also have applied to N. Korea. So I see the Iraq War as something that Bush pushed really hard for.

I am glad you started this thread. I have been pondering how to start this for the past few hours, but you done well. :)

I think the best way for me to respond to all this is with the thoughts that have went through my mind. I will do it in no particular order.
With the dems in control now :sad

1) As if I did not already pay enough taxes, I have just taken a pay cut.

2) It will now be a little more difficult for me to be able to give to samaritans purse, world vision and those whom I see need help, so this means I will have to cut back on more personal things for my self.

3) Who in thier right mind is going to want to join the military when you have a bunch of liberals who are cowards and will turn and run and not have the backs of the soldiers who protect us.

4) Black hawk down all over again

5) Having to hear Nancy Pelosi and her extreme left san francisco theology.

6) Abortion on demand just got a major Boost, so the Killing of babies will continue along with the breading of new babies to experiment with.

7) Is not interesting that on the day the GOP lost the SENATE and Congress, Hamas declared all out war on ISRAEL

8) Is not interesting that on the day the GOP lost the SENATE and Congress,
Hezbolah started to move back to the boarders

9) Is not interesting that on the day the GOP lost the SENATE and Congress,
that the U.N. is now trying to remove the trade embargo with Communist cuba

10) Is not interesting that on the day the GOP lost the SENATE and Congress, that there was a celebration in IRAQ sponsored by the terrorist

11) Pelosi aims to block Democratic hawks from key posts. In other words, she is not going to protect my Childeren or yours.

12) The door is now open for the ANTICHRIST to show up. There is no way that I could see it with the GOP because the GOP will have israels back. But with Liberals now in power, israel in on their own now. Consistant with Propecy

13) With the GOP out now, There will now be no one to battle the very corrupt U.N. They will hold the door open for the ANTICHRIST

14) We have now become like france :crying:

i have more thoughts and will come up with my B list in a little while.

p.s. IRAQ did have WMD's and were moved to Syria right before the war.

Thanks Jg. You are right on. It fits well with the Apostate Church. Kerry wants a one world government. Pelosi has marched in a gay parade with the man-boys, really disgusting. When they say they want to balance the budget, that means raise taxes. When they say they want to shore up Social Security, that means raise taxes. When they say they want to make medi-care better, that means raise taxes. When they say they want pay as you go, that means raise taxes. There is no doubt about, they are going to raid your pocketbook. I see high interest rates, high inflation, a shortage of gas, and the economy going south, all the way to Satan. Of course Bush has veto power, not less they go for impeachment. They are gloating now, but God will judge them in the end.

I have much more to say about this war we have to fight, but will wait for now. Jg. Do you want me to give you some of my sources about Iraq's WMD'S? Good job Jg.

You are demonizing them without even trying to understand them.

Basically, Bush has spent a huge amount of money. He borrowed the money from the future (equivalent to running up your credit card). You have to pay the money back. Either you raise taxes today or you raise them in the future or you spend less. If spending less is your answer, then you have to blame Bush for spending more. Before you act like raising taxes is the worst thing, see the whole picture.

I doubt the Democrats will go for an impeachment. Why would they? All they could accomplish is getting rid of Bush for a year and putting Cheney in power. I think they have better use of their time.

You are aware that this country is enjoying the best economy in over 30 years right :-?

There is one thing that is worth remembering and that is that we ARE living in the last days. God has already determined what will happen in the final summation and while we may not like the leadup to this point, keep in mind there is much worse to come. So take heart, those whose trust is in the Lord. Your redemption is getting ever closer.

I was raised and taught never to debate in religion or politics.. Mom I am sorry.. I broke a commandment from God. I did not honnor my parents. Oh wait this topic is not about that. Foolish me..

I voted for Bush, because well Kerry was supporting stem cell research and allowing condoms to be administered to kids by the public school house, as giving the okay to have sex, as long as it's safe... Not cool

I like Bush, but I do not agree with alot of his party. I never like Rumsfield because of his past history. No wonder he resigned. Rice can not be trusted. So in general it's the President's party who allowed this war to drift off into what it is today. And Bush just followed along... The only man that could be trusted and was well respected was Colon Powell. He came to the UN with an agenda. But the party behind him had their own agenda. Good ol' Rumsfeld boy...

I remember the economy greatly improving under Clinton. I know the currently economy is great for the upper class and not so great for the lower class.

What I see Bush doing is borring too much money. It would be like you getting a new credit card and spendng a lot of money. It may seem like you are rich, but when the bills come due, you will then see the impact of borrowing. I tink the USA will feel the effects of that once we have to pay back for Bush's massive spending.

Sorry Quath
I strongly disagree. Have you seen how many people for the first time in their lives purchased a home? While health care is still a problem, more people than ever have it now. Quath; I know that you are an intellegent fellow. I know this. So I know you understand how economics work. The reason the economy was good during the Monica, I mean Hillary, I mean Clinton years was because of what Ronald Reagan and Bush senior did. Clinton mearly rode their coat tails until the end of his term. By that Time he had messed up the economy and so thus it has taken this president Bush to 6 years to clean up his mess.. Not only did he clean it up, but he improved it. Not that you fellows are back in power, you will proceed to mess it up again :sad , but before that, you will take credit for the Good economy that Bush left, but then when you mess it up again, it will be Bushes fault   You guys are :-D

People have been buying homes because of the new ways the banks have been financing people. For example, I bought my home with nothing down. This effectively gave people more buying power for homes. The problem now is that many people bought houses that they really couldn't afford in the hopes it will go up in value. With the housing market no longer growing, many people are going to be in deep financial trouble.

I remember going into the year 2000 with a great economic forcast. I don't see the democrats messing up the economy at all. So I saw nothing for Bush to clean up.

Where I do see a problem is when the upper class owns too much of the wealth and the poor class owns less. Division in class can lead to class warfare. For example, if the rich keep getting richer and the poor not growing at the same pace, they may rebel. That is why we need some kind of redistribution of wealth to keep the division of wealth spread across the classes.

I say these things being someone who makes a decent amount of money (about $150k a year). I am doing pretty well under many of these rules. But I worry about the poor not keeping up.

Quath
How is rasing taxes going to help the poor? If anything its going to hurt them more. A tax increase is not going to bother the rich. The middle class however and those small business owners will get hurt. That intern gets passed down to the poor. As a result, jobs get cut and this leads to more crime.

There are two parts. One is raising taxes to pay off our bills. That is separate from class differences. We have borrowed a lot of money and we will have to pay it back.

The other part is about the redistribution of wealth. That has been accomplished with progressive taxes like inheirentence tax, income tax and other taxes that target the upper class more.

I don't advocate this from a socialist philosphy or because I think it is fair. I advocate it to keep capitalism stable. If the rich get too much of the wealth, then the lower class will rebel. So at least from my own self interest, I want to keep capitalism stable. (And I want us to pay off our debt so we can spend money more wisely.)
