God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Angel: the first part of this is often quoted; though not so much the second part...

Blessings.

Good prayer to live by and I never heard the second part either. It's all a day at a time and let tomorrow concern itself as we are never promised tomorrow.

Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will
...if I surrender to His will...

Probably the hardest lesson to learn in the Christian life.

If we'll just stop manipulating our unfavorable circumstances with our sinful defense mechanisms--fits of rage, hatred, pride, judging, arrogance, etc.--and trust God instead, that is when he makes things right.

Reminds me of this Scripture, Jethro Bodine

Titus 2:12
teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world,

I learned this verse in AWANA when I was about.. 15
