We will still suffer illness, loss of loved ones, outrages, and all the ills of "civilization." The members of the AME church in Charleston, SC were not immune to the whacko who murdered them.
My understanding is that the only immunity we have is that none of that can separate us from the love of God.
'Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything'.
The Christian life is one of trials and testing to help us persevere to maturity. That doesn't read like 'immunity' to me.
Perhaps you are thinking of some other biblical emphasis. Where does Scripture state believers will be immune from tribulation? Matt 24:9-14 (NIV) doesn't sound like immunity:
'“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come'.
The problem is that the people who run this world don't know what they're doing. They don't even care as long as they get richer and richer no matter how many "human resources" get squashed in the process.
Does it really need to? We're only here for a short time. Nothing when compared with eternity. I'm more about laying up treasures in Heaven. "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal." Matthew 6:19-20
