Can anybody recommend particular artists or songs based on their theological and teaching value (as opposed to their musical value or favorites)? I'd like to find out which artists do the best job of communicating biblical truth through their songs.

Thanks!

If you don't mind classical or sacred music I would recommend Gregorian Chant (helpful if you have English translations for the Latin; it's usually based off some Scripture. I also recommend some other sacred music like Palestrina; Byrd wrote some, too, along with a lot of the major classical artists like Bach and Mozart. Handel...

I'm not sure what you're asking.
Vicky Beeching has a Masters degree in theology from Oxford. I'm not aware of any other artists with these credentials but it doesn't usually come up. There must be many musicians who've graduated or at least attended seminary.

I may have misunderstood your question.

Basically, I'd like songs that are theologically and doctrinally sound, for one. If they contain good teaching, that would be even better.

I don't necessarily need people with seminary degrees, just ones that talk about themes like justification, exaltation of God, etc.
