Now I know why they show so many slow motion repeats during soccer game broadcasts. While we are shown a slo-mo of the last goal in reality the undead referee is devouring some player.

In all seriousness, those refs have a physically and mentally demanding job and they are likely to get a lot of hate when someone is unhappy with their decisions. There are occasional stories about threatened or beaten up referees in the news. So I guess a bit of teenage girl attention would be quite nice for their egos.
