I almost started crying once I heard his mother's voice start to waver. :crying My thoughts and prayers with the friends and family of this young man, may he rest in peace and rest within the arms of Jesus.
:(
:sad

I don't recall anyone ever saying children were immune to the virus. What has been understood so far is that children appear to be far less affected by the virus and far less likely to become seriously ill than older persons.

Here's a link to the CDC website showing the hospitalization and death rates for covid-19 by age as compared to the 18-29 year old group. For example, children 5-17 years of age are 9x less likely to become hospitalized and 16x less likely to die from the virus than those in the 18-29 year old group.

If thats the case then there should be some reason for why the age groups ranges are different.

Yes, age. Children under 18 are the most resilient to the virus. As we get older we become more susceptible to the virus and the older we get the more at risk we are. Those over 75 were first in line to receive the vaccines because they are the most vulnerable to the virus. Their immune systems are not as strong as younger people. They are more likely already experiencing other health issues like COPD, heart disease, diabetes, cancer (particularly lung cancer), and obesity just to name a few.

What link? (I've heard it a lot over the past year that children were immune btw and just like humble soul said, mostly on here.)

Me too! .. how tragic and frightening!.. One day he's fine and life is normal, the next [indescribable, words cannot do justice] .. without warning and no fighting chance... it is no wonder they're prepared to cripple economies to stop it...

Your words bring to mind the song of an artist who dedicated the song to a mother who had lost her own son. It too is tearjerking:

That's really sad, even when we know where our children have gone. It doesn't make it any easier for us. No parent should have to burry a child. :crying

Oops. Sorry, forgot to make the link. Here it is. When you go there, you'll see that each age group has a higher risk for both hospitalization and death from the virus. Keep in mind that those below about 60 still have a relatively low rate overall. You can search the CDC website to see that data also.
