We're all blessed to be living at this time in earth's history, but make no mistake... we're in the last hour before Jesus returns.

I know, He's been saying soon, all the way through the Word. But it's real this time, we are the last generation before Jesus returns.

A day to the Lord is as 1000 years to us. I crunched some numbers, and figured out that, to the Lord...an 'hour' is about 41 years to us.

There's lots of obvious evidence in the world that we are, according to the scriptures, in the end times. The last days. Right now.

I'm not bein' a date setter here, but rather, times and seasons... :wink

We're prolly in the beginning of the end times, inasmuch as the world is having birth pangs or whatever..(more earthquakes & strange weather patterns than ever before, plus wars and rumours of wars.) That, plus the state of moral decay, corruption, evilness...yeah, look around, we're in the last days. All this was propecied in Scripture, we're there.

So the last hour gives us 40 years max until Jesus shows up again. (!!!) The last hour...

Personally, I believe that it will be sooner than 40...maybe tonight, lol! Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Ever heard of Millerites?

Google them up at wikipedia and take a look see.

Miller had a calculus formula.

I find myself praying every day that today is the last day. It's a selfish prayer in a way.
I don't want my kids to be in this sin sick world. I don't want them to die, physically, I don't want them to suffer pain.

I notice in education today and what they are taught it is not Godly.
Even in RE at there school the RE teacher goes out of her way to disprove Jesus. Shocking and sad.

The "Day of the Lord" is not going to be a pleasant day. It's like those places that you hear about where Christians are persecuted and tortured but instead of being localized it's going to be global...and there's going to be no place to hide.
It's going to be more worse than you can imagine...and even in this "enlightened" age it's going to be horrible.

Just when you think it can't get worse...that's exactly what will happen. That's what the Day of the Lord is like.

First comes judgement then comes blessing. And there's no shortcutting the Judgement.

every now and then, it seems like there's some weird society-wide understanding that the world is messed up and can't keep going on like this...then it dies down.

But, I kinda do think we're zooming towards the end. I'm 32. Not super young, but not old. Anyway...I remember how things were when I was in HS, then college, and now...now...now things are crazy, even down here in The Bible Belt ("1,000 miles wide, 1 inch deep").

We have...The Popes of The Carolinas now. Kinda scary. That, to me, is a big sign...when you add in the popularity of all the false teaching and false doctrine that's now in the mainstream (the SBC, for whatever reason, seems to have a problem w/ producing big time wolves in sheep's clothing...).

Socially...same-sex marriage wasn't even thinkable, not realistically, 20 years ago. Suddenly..bam, here it is. I mean, the secular government can do what it wants, I'm just saying...we have same-sex unions because marriage, as an institution, is pretty much dead for most people.

The environment has rebelled on us. The US is...I think the US is crumbling. We spread violence abroad and oppress most of the citizenry here at home. Coupled with the materialism, consumerism, social disintegration, violence (compared to, say, Canada or the UK...), and mass incarceration....I think the US is headed for some seriously hard times, no matter who wins the Presidency.

--sigh-- of course, the US could collapse and that wouldn't mean the end is nigh. Empires come and go, historically. But I just don't see whole things can go on, as they are...crazy inequality, envrionmental problems, natural disasters...

I've rambled. I agree with Edward, to a point. I don't have a number of years or decades left in my mind, but...fertility rates have fallen in most affluent, developed nations. The population in these countries are aging. Meanwhile, cohabitation, divorce, sodomy, and other immoral experssions of intimacy have become accepted as part of life. What Pope John Paul II called "The Culture of Death" in (I think...) the early 90s is now clearly more powerful, more deep-rooted, etc. than the (Christian) "Culture of Life." I mean, PCUSA approves of abortion and same sex unions and women in all church positions. That's a problem for me because...Calvinism is at the core of a lot of "American values," and Calvinism helped create capitalism as we see it now. And now...

...look where that got us. Thanks, John Calvin ((LOL)). But, seriously: I don't think things are sustainable at any level...economically, socially, environmentally, morally. Even academicians are writing about what life will be like...after capitalism (apparently, either awesome or a nightmare).

Things are falling apart right before our eyes.

What do you mean by the day of the Lord is not going to be pleasant? Correct me but to me the day of the Lord is the dy he says enough, time to call an end, judgment day.

Wrg,

That's why here in Queensland I'm writing a new high school RE curriculum (we call it RI - religious instruction) using the framework of Dr Norman Geisler and his classical apologetics. Dr Geisler's organisation referred me to this site for the outline of his apologetic method. In his book with Frank Turek, I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist (Crossway Books 2004) he provides details of how this method works out in practice (it gets a bit heavy in spots).

I've written 20 of a proposed 80 lessons (2 years worth of lessons) - aimed at 13-15 year olds - and it will be solidly evangelical, with a strong apologetic emphasis.

I've had enough of these so-called Christians who desecrate the Bible and dare to call it Christianity. It's liberalised, secularist, deconstruction of biblical Christianity.

Formula? No, you're taking this all wrong. This is about what season it is and not date setting.

See that's what happens when the tree of the knowledge of good & evil trys to discuss spiritual things. They can't because spiritual matters can only be spiritually discerned, they can't be intellectualized but they do create division & strife.

This excerpt from your OP is why I was thinking that you have some kind of mathematics going on.

Signs are different than calculations.
And where there is now more news outlets that post anything that happens around the world in just a few minutes that doesn't mean that anything unusual has been happening... the unprecedented thing is the news outlets themselves... maybe that in itself is a sign. But definitely not what they are reporting.

Here is the prophet, speaking of "how" thee end will come.

It may not be how we are commonly led to 'think.'

Isaiah 54:
8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.
9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

If we follow the "Divine Cadence" we will always see Gods Expressions first, to the natural man, adversely. And then, to the Spiritual Man, KINDLY.

We had the first flood. It was a killer to the 'natural man.' What then is the "second flood" but to the Spiritual above?

The same application can be see with Sodom and Gomorrah. First, to the natural man, destruction. Will the SECOND EXPRESSION be like this? No! It will be the opposite.

I have studied Revelation and allegories/parables for nearly all my adult life. I left off from the "doom and gloom" camps more than 2 decades ago. Why? In part, because I SAW this obvious starting point, the ENTIRE COLLECTIVE of Heaven and Earth PRAISING GOD IN CHRIST:

Rev. 5:

10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Rev. 5:13 ties in perfectly with Paul's writings in Romans 8:21

Raise YOUR HEADS, for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28

One sign that's undeniable....

Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
