I have an opposition to Harry Potter, but perhaps it was because every kid was reading it in school but me...or at least that is what it felt like. My parents were not fans of the witches, wizards, and magic. I can't blame them since some of the spells in those books are a few words off from real ones. I never really had the desire to go read the books or watch the movies.

I think most in the Christian community concerned about the darker roots surrounding Halloween of divination, evil spirits, and many unproven theories about where the candy tradition came from, etc.

You know, I hardly saw the Jesus costumes until I was older. I guess it bothers me that it is often difficult for women to buy a decent premade costume as most of them are mini skirts, low cut tops, etc. There are some costumes I cannot stand because of how inappropriate they are.

On the Harry Potter thing, I have four little words that make a huge difference. To each their own. But yes I do agree with you on the inappropriate costumes, as for the darker roots of Halloween,.. no, it really doesn't bother me because that's not really what the holiday is today. Use the four little words that I provided though, they prevent a lot of arguments from occurring. Oh yeah, and I'm sorry but I find it really hard to believe that they used real spells without any evidence. It's purely fun, fiction, and a good read to me.

And Ozzy Osbourne's song Mr Crowley deserves a mention, for those that have obviously never heard it. Randy Rhodes on guitar, a true pioneer (and a creative genius)

Crowley is also tucked away on the album cover for Hotel California, the Eagle's top seller

Randy Rhoads was a great guitarist. Had no idea Ozzy did a song about this guy, but with a band named Black Sabbath, it doesn't surprise me.

I only like 1 song by The Eagles, but it wasn't Hotel California. Didn't know this Crowley guy is in their album cover....how creepy.

This is why America's moral fabric is coming undone... tolerance and an outright fascination with evil. I'm Jewish... I'll never understand the whole fascination with Halloween and vampire movies. Its all a front and very dirty. You should read about Aleister Crowley and elite's plans for Hollywood and Western Culture.

Also, superhero movies that have the superheroes using their weapons or physical powers to take out the enemy. My superhero used his Spirit to overcome. But, that wouldn't be cool enough for the movies I guess. :neutral

All of this music and movies are very unclean and demonic. They're an open door to immoral behavior and self-destructive programming. From Harry Potter & Tim Burton to any vampire movie or heavy metal album- its all going to ruin your kids. In Judaism, words and vibrations are everything. Spirituality is actually a science.
G-d spoke the world into existence. Moses spoke and the Sea parted. Speaking is vibration and everything in the universe is based on movement and vibration- light waves, sound waves, heatwaves, water, a cat's tail or the movement of the snake... Its all by one Designer.
There's no middle ground spiritually. Lukewarm is spit from His mouth.

But hey, its America, you can have your own opinion in your own world and in your denomination du jour however, Torah and the New Testament are very clear... especially, Yeshua. This stuff is an abomination.

Furthermore, since when did Disney NOT have a sordid past? You cannot argue that the "Pink Elephants" scene in Dumbo is beyond disturbing. All of the racist undertones of that film and many others that encouraged Segregation and racist themes depicting any and all minorities as idiots. That same racism still carries on today but in some cases even worse not to mention the violence against women that is depicted in every mainstream X-Men movie and other children's and teeny bopper super hero flicks.

I mean, there is a comic book superhero movie coming out literally almost every few months. We are not shown true powers in the movies hardly ever.

Oh yeah, there's definitely no question in my mind that it's dark, but I don't feel like it's sinful to watch or anything since it's just a movie to me and it isn't real anyways.

Porn is just a movies and not real. Yet the powers that be here will not look at the deception being pushed here ,.

There definitely are a lot more secular films coming out. Probably because Marvel and DC comics are widely accepted in our culture. Although, there are at least references to God in Marvel. It seems Christian movies have become more of a thing, though(Check out Pure Flix).

Your post is just about the main reason i no longer listen to most secular music. Some where along in the last few years that challenge was brought to me. It may have been here. Taking a look back it is there. I do believe the verbiage today it much more ugly. That fact does not change the old music to 'nice' . The slippery slope gets slippery.
