I noticed today that there are 2818 guest online and would like to welcome all of you. I pray you will find Christianforums.net a place where you will be lifted up and edified by the word of God and to those who are seeking, but not yet have made the decision to follow Christ that you will be inspired by the Holy Spirit to make that decision today to follow after Christ having Him become your Lord and Savior. John 3:5-7; Romans 10:9-10. Start reading the book of John as this will help you learn about our relationship with Jesus and then the book of Acts to learn about the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. There is also a Q&A forum to ask any questions you might have and we will be glad to help you.

God bless all of you :)

We need the Holy Spirit of God to truly understand the Bible. But if I were to begin somewhere, I would start with the Sermon on the Mount. In that brief but powerful message, Jesus gives us everything we need to live the life He’s calling us to. The rest of Scripture helps illuminate and deepen our understanding of what He teaches in that sermon.

Starting with the Sermon on the Mount is like opening the door to the heart of the Gospel. It’s astonishing how so much of Jesus’ ethic—humility, mercy, justice, peacemaking, love for enemies—is packed into just three chapters of Matthew. It is easy enough to get a commentary to help us to understand His teaching for us.

The Beatitudes alone flip the world’s values on their head: Blessed are the poor in spirit... the meek... those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. There’s a quiet revolution in that message.

That too is a good place for understanding, but first I feel we need to first learn about who Jesus is and what our relationship to Him is all about before we get into further understanding.
