NIGHTMARE

Since this strays away from the millenium topic I taught i would anser your questions here....

I said When satan arrives on the earth,,,,he will play the role of Christ (antichrist) ,,,,He will stand in Jerusalem claiming to be Christ/God taking away the daily oblation.....

What passage does it say Satan will do this and that he is the antichrist?? I'd like to know where you're coming from in Scripture so I can engage what the text actually says instead of an "idea" of what the text means.

This is where it says satan will stand in Jerusalem claiming to be God taking away the daily oblation....

Mark 13:14 "But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it [he, who is Satan] ought not, (let Him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:"

The Abomination of Desolation is incorrect......Its should read the "Abomination of the Desolator"

In the Hebrew it says "on the wings of a desolator" here it is in full

"On the wings of abomination shall the desolator come in, and on the wing shall ye see the desolator.

Desolation is a condition,,,we are speaking of a person not a condition,,,,notice the word "he" as it is utilized in the verse below....

Daniel 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.' "

What satan is going to do is stand in the holy place (Jerusalem) and claim to be Christ,,,,he is going to tell people they no longer need communion in the memory of christ because Christ is back and he Christ.... see below...also see rev 13

Daniel 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

As for as the second question ,,,,its a little harder to explain unless your a little familiar with Greek I think you are,,,,so let me know,,, and I will render what I believe and why I believe satan is the false prophet and the antichrist......

First and foremost, the tone of this post is very much appreciated. Thanks for keeping things civil and respectful. :thumb

I have a couple of questions from your post:

1) You are assuming that the desolator is Satan, but I see no where in the text for that to be the case. Can you show me how you arrived to that conclusion that Satan is indeed the desolator and not someone else (ie, Antichus Epiphanes or Titus)? Please elaborate on what you see in the Greek for reasons for Satan to be the antichrist/false prophet.

2) Do you think that this desolator/antichrist will actually be Satan himself or someone under the influence of Satan (ie, a world ruler or someone)?

Thanks for clarifying your view. I take it that you are a futurist, but you don't subscribe to the rapture, so may I ask what you consider yourself to be?

Oh, one more thing...can I ask what you think the oblation/offering & sacrifice is as described in Dan. 9:27?

Everytime i begin to post I have to step away...so I will answer all your questions a little latter this evening,,,,,remember im in Cali........

No problem. I know what it's like to be busy. :yes

Well when I here the bible call someone a "desolator" then little red flags go up....Satan has many names,,,,and in this case,,,,satan is being refered to as a "desolator",,,,,because he is going to cause desolation to come on the world.....

What is the "Abomination of Desolation" ?????? It is a person (satan) on earth claiming to be Jesus Christ returned,,,,,standing in Jerusalem taking away the daily oblation and sacrifice....

Daniel 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

We know satan is the desolator because,,,the desolator is able to convince the world to stop taking communion......The only way to do this is to have people believe you are Christ and there is no need to take communion in the remembrance of Christ,,,if He is here....

19And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

But the book of Revelation tells us the same thing.....

Rev. 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Here we have satan/desolator appearing on the earth,,,,,,,,,,,,,as you can see he his emulating the Lamb Slain (Jesus) but he speaks like the dragon. (satan).....

Rev. 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

If you want people to believe you are Christ returned,,,you are going to have to perform miracles,,,Christ did it....

I believe "The tree of knowledge" "old serpent" "satan" "devil" "antichrist" "false prophet" "dragon" are all the same person......"Desolator" is just another role satan will play to fulfill the end of the age....

Look at the behavior of the desolator,,,and compare it to that that of satan himself....

In the garden satan was known as the "Tree of Knowledge" because he understood sin,,,,and has the ability to open the flesh eyes but close the spiritual ones.....

"Atsah, aw-tsaw, prime root, prop. to fasten (or make firm), i.e., to close (the eyes): shut."

When he was tricking Eve in the garden he was known as the "Serpent" sly,,and cunning he was able to beguile (seduce) her....

Genesis 3:13 "And the Lord God said unto the woman, "What is this that thou hast done?" And the woman said, "The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat."

When he is opposing God we call him 'satan"

Job 1:9 "Then Satan answered the Lord and said, "Doth Job fear God for nought?"

Job 1:10 "Hast not Thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land."

Job 1:11 "But put forth Thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and He will curse Thee to Thy face."

7853 satan saw-tan' a primitive root; to attack, (figuratively) accuse:--(be an) adversary, resist.

7854 satan saw-tawn' from 7853; an opponent; especially (with the article prefixed) Satan, the arch-enemy of good:--adversary, Satan, withstand.

When he is tempting people and being a overall pain we call him "devil"

Matthew 4:1
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

God has given us,,,example after example of what is to come,,,,after reading the bible,,,,, a christian should be able to identify satan in his role as the desolator...

2) Do you think that this desolator/antichrist will actually be Satan himself or someone under the influence of Satan (ie, a world ruler or someone)?

It will be the devil himself,,,,

Revelation 12:12 "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time."
