[_ Old Earth _] Top ten creation myths

While ID is certainly plausible, there are some ideas of creation that most easily can discern as not possible, likely, or rational. Putting the label "myth" on creation ideas indicates bias, so no open minded person will try to "learn" about creation(ism) from anyone who uses that term. Even though some creation(ary) 'ideas' are myth(theistic and atheistic included), one should not present or harbor bias.

I do find interesting that there are many beleifs(and others possible)
regarding Creation and God, evolution(theistic and atheistic, and non-theistic), The beggining of life on earth and so on.

For one to beleive he is exactly correct in this area would cocky, to say the least.

"Myth"can even be interpreted in different ways though. On the negative side, myth can be equated with lying. On the positive side, myth is associated with great sacred stories.

I believe that there is a lot of confusion about what Intelligent Design is. To me, it's claims cannot be a priori assumed to align with those of what is often referred to as "creationism".

To me, ID is a plausible explanation for "why the world is the way that it is". What's more, it is not an hypothesis that we cannot reason about - real work can be done to weight the pros and cons of this idea. So in this respect, ID is not at all like the hypothesis that "on April 9 2006 at 12 noon GMT, the total number of mosquitos alive on the earth = an even number". This hypothesis, while plausible, cannot really be argued about - little if any hope exists of "making a case" for or against. This is not the case with ID - it is not idle speculation. It can be reasoned about. I have tried to make such an argument in the "Christianity and Science" topic under the "Intelligent Design is not Intelligent Thread".

I think they should bump one of them for the addition of scientific myth. The cosmos created itself. It started off with a bang and went rather slowly after that, crawling ahead by leaps and bounds until finally we have emerged from primordial soup to reality tv shows where worse things happen to the less evolved of the species.
