I've pretty much switched my major to History (not offically, but...yeah..don't wanna do psychology, for a number of reasons...). I'm in the required Government class. Its a 200-level class.
So, every class at Liberty has required discussion boards. Some way them more heavily than others. You post a reply to a prompt, then respond to 2 other peoples' threads. Usually, I do quite well.
This instructor weighs DB HEAVILY. 100 points for the initial post, 50 for the responses. I made...65...on my thread. I was and am taken aback.
OH, oh, oh, what a blow to my ego. Apparently, it was well-written and she "enjoyed reading it," but I didn't reflect on the course as a whole. I had 250 words to analyze and discuss an article that was either liberal or conservative in outlook. I did conservative, on that Indiana law.
I'm...recovering, lol. I guess next time I'll ignore the 250 word count suggestion. I mean, she'll probably take off-seems like the type, anyway--but probably not 30 points (!!!).
Ugh. And yet...I'm glad. Part of earning a degree is learning to "jump through hoops" and also honing your skills and abilities.
Anybody else dealt with/dealing with tough graders?
