Ok, so this isn't a movie, so much as a series. An anime series, so if you aren't an anime fan, it probably isn't for you.
I believe it was rated PG-13 due to some cuss words, scarcely spread out through the series, and the gunfighting of course. All in all though, it's pretty clean.
It's a story of a man who wanders the earth, carrying only his satchel (which I assume has rations and a change of cloths) and a big gun. He never uses the gun to kill people, in fact, he detests killing. He's a genuine hero. Problem is, everyone thinks he is a mass murderer, and wants his bounty of 60,000,000,000 double dollars. So, he must get himself (and anyone around him) out of messes without killing anyone in the process. People fear him upon rumor, he is Vash the stampede!
In his journeys, he meets two very comical characters. Meryl Strife, a hardened worker for an insurance company, sent to investigate Vash the stampede, and the damages he causes. Milly Thompson, her partner, who is a bit dense and wreckless, but with a huge heart like Vash that she tends to follow, no matter what.
Then, the second 'hero' is introduced, and seemingly, the favorite character of the series. Nicholas D. Wolfwood, a traveling preacher, who would do anything to help the kids of his orphanage. He carries a massive cross, which is very heavy.
"Sir! That thing is heavy!"
"That my friend, is because it's full of mercy." He replies.
I won't divulge too much into the series and ruine it. I tried my best not to scratch so much as even the surface. But, if you are an anime fan, this is a must see, if you haven't already. It carries with it several good messages, as well as the usual comic relief.
Quite possibly my favorite anime series, next to Evangelion: Neon Genesis. Highly recommended.
"He was right, in the end, there was plenty of ways to save everybody." -Wolfwood.
"People who sin say this: They had to, to survive. People who sin say this: It's too late now to stop. The shadow called Sin dogs them steadily from behind, without a word. Remorse and Agony are repeated, to finally end up at Despair. But sinners don't know that if they turn around, there is a light... a light which keeps shining on them ever so warmly. A light that will never fade" -Vash the stampede (I believe this was from the manga)
