Mark 12:38
“Watch out for the teachers of the Law who like to walk around in their long robes and be greeted with respect in the market place, who choose the reserved seats in the synagogues and the best places at feasts. They take advantage of widows [means the bride the Church who has lost her husband Jesus] and rob them of their homes.†[in the Kingdom of God]

This refers to modern day Church ministers, who do just exactly this.

Do you regard yourself to be a true follower of the Christian faith or a follower of the outward form of the religion (2 Timothy 3:1-9)? Please be honest with yourself, comments are appreciated.

A good description of true Christianity versus the outward form of the faith is to be found here:

Following a so called 'Christian faith' is one thing but that doesn't make one a christian. What would you say qualifies a person as a christian?

Alasdair is the wrong one to ask: his website makes the most ridiculously outlandish statements & twists Scripture in the most cavalier fashion - just as he did in 2 threads last week, where he claims to be an archangel

Sounds like drugs, yes?

I only had time to read about half of that multi-page link, but he says things like the verse in Song of Songs @ the bride's teeth means people tormented in Hell

He claims Solomon means a man going solo & that the temple he built was merely his own human idea, when God told King David in 2 Samuel 6-7 that HE had chosen Solomon to build the temple

Zechariah 14 etc make it clear that God wants the temple rebuilt, as when Medssiah returns, He enters into His Holy City thru the East Gate of the Temple & rules Earth with a rod of iron from Zion after He slaughters Antichrist armies at Armageddon - see also Joel 3 & Revelation 16

"Beware false prophests: they come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves"

One thing to keep in mind: God is the only one who can say if one is really a Christian or not. Man can read eyes, body language, etc; but only God can read our hearts.
