How many of you are searching for truth in scripture,
truth as in why we exist, why we're here, our purpose etc..
and how many are convinced your imagination (away from scripture) is true.
Do you think using your imagination away from scripture is dangerous.

Examples: Ghosts, Aliens, Science, Evolution, Cults, Writers/poetry..
I'd like to keep this in Apologetics if we could. TY - Dave :shades

Good evening Dave! I am always asking myself "why am I here", and "what is my purpose". King Solomon's wisdom still rings true, the only thing worthwhile in this life is Love. The only answers I've found that make sense come from scripture. I have found answers to those questions based on aliens, science, evolution, etc that made sense at first, but I found the more I examined my answers the less sense they made. I think using my imagination apart from scripture can be a way to stay sharp, to examine what I believe. To me life makes sense in light of scripture. I like this quote "Until we understand that our grief outweighs a thousand joys, we will never understand what Christianity is all about." Herman Melville -Redburn.

Poetry can have multiple layers of meanings. What do you think this means. Blessings. :-)

We, are here for one reason.......to give Jesus Christ the Lord all honor and Glory and praise due his name. Not ALL men do this, as many boast of what they did or will do or have done. But his choosen people will do this. Along the way we are to show and have Love and great patience with the breathern, especially those we believe belong to him. Be ye kind, considerant, and always faithfull to the scriptures as he allows us to do.

I think it means we learn quicker about God and what life is about in times of grief than times of joy. Those are the times we learn to reconcile how God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and holy, yet bad things happen in this world. The times of joy are great, a taste of things to come. But truthfully, most growth came when things didn't go as I planned. I think everything that happens in this life matters, otherwise nothing would. I often think if I did not have hope in Jesus, what would be the point of life?
I think this is what life is all about "...and now these three remain faith, hope, love." I think thats what we take with us to heaven, our faith hope and love.

Dave this is why 'you have no need of any man to teach you but the Holy Spirit will teach you all things'. But you have to be in the right position.
