two different statements

Saying “God is everything” and “Everything is God” are two different statements…

Everything is God can mean that somehow everything relates to God and His Master Plan.

Whereas God is everything is different. It would be like saying my cheeseburger is God. Or like saying my painting is God. These things relate to God, but are not God Himself

The scripture says God is a Spirit and a cheeseburger does not have a Spirit, therfore a cheeseburger is not God.

This was not a developed doctrine in most christian circles, including the classic EOC and RCC; at least as far as I have ascertained. IT is different in classical Judaism.

In classical Judaism, Creation was an act of God pulling Himself away from a part of His existence to form the universe. Therefore He was not "everything" even though it was all made by Him.
