No, you don't. Trump acts and talks on the roof terrace for all to see him. It is those who act and talk in their basement that you need a microscope for, otherwise, appearances can be deceitful.
 
Voting is more about who you hate less.
Where you stand politically is based more on who you hate than who you love and admire. It's more that voters can't stand the Democrats than loving Trump.
And there is one issue voters. Anti abortion means you have to vote Republican.
