"The Two Witnesses" are the "two olive trees" from Romans 11. They are the Jews who are faithful to God and the Christians who are faithful to God. Judaism died when the last messianic communities disappeared in the first centuries after Christ. Christianity officially died on March 28, 2005, when no one in the religion responded to the greatest sign from God: the coincidence of two powerful earthquakes with the two main Christian holidays, Christmas 2004 and Easter 2005. Such coincidences can happen approximately once every 1.5 million years (!), but Christianity has completely lost all connection with God, there are no prophets in Christianity, so everyone ignored this greatest sign. The second sign from God also happened on Easter 2005: the dying Pope John Paul II lost his voice and for the first time was unable to conduct the Easter mass.
The prophecy of the first "witness", Judaism, began in the month of Adar 516 BCE when the Second Temple was built. From Adar (March) 516 BCE to March 28, 2005, exactly 1260 + 1260 = 2520 years have passed. A day equals a year - this is a well-known substitution that is found in the Bible (see Ezekiel 4:6).
The 1260 days of the "two witnesses" have long since passed.
Another picture of the same "two witnesses" is given in the vision of Ezekiel in chapter 37. Note that these dry bones are lying on the surface of the ground, just like the "two witnesses" in Revelation 11. And further, these bones finally come to life after the spirit of the four winds enters into them. Both passages use the same expression: "they stood on their feet."
And further, in the 37th chapter of Ezekiel, God explains to him that these dead people lying on the surface of the earth are the two houses of Israel: the house of Judah (the Jews) and the house of Joseph (Ephraim - the lost tribes of Israel, mixed with the pagans and now gathered by the Gospel). The stick of Ephraim (Christians) will be added to the stick of Judah (the Jews), and they will become one people in the hand of the Lord God.
According to this chapter of the prophecy, the "two witnesses" will come to life when Ezekiel prophesies, that is, when Ezekiel's prophecy about the Third Temple comes to life, when we build the Third Temple according to Ezekiel's prophecy. This must be done jointly by Jews and Christians, and when this happens, the dead religions will again become alive and ascend to heaven.
Here is an example of how the first witness knew how to "shut up heaven":
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. (Matthew 23:13)
Pharisaic Christianity did the same. The "two witnesses" will strike the earth with plagues later, when the time of the vials of wrath comes.
