UK pension plans: unaffordable?

As a public sector worker, i am pleased that we can still retire at 60. But i don't really think its fair that one group of people can retire at 60 while every one else has to work on until they are 65, and maybe longer.

As for the whole issue of pensions in the UK. I think we have a major problem, because of people living longer plus a number of other factors and i think that difficult decisions are going to have to be made by Parliament in the very near future, decisions that are not going to be popular to most of the workforce. It does seem unfair because many people have paid into a pension scheme for many years and yet it looks like they will have to pay into a plan for longer. But i guess if we want a comfortable life in pensionable age, we will have to work on. Personally, i cannot see we have much choice...Now i'm not saying that this is right or fair and makes one wonder if there has been some sort of mess up in the system. Don't know.

Neil.

Uk is more Christian than the US. You care about your people and do something about it. In the US we step on the people below us and kiss the ass above us, not very Christian.
