Yes the donkey ( called an ass in the KJV) that the prophet Balaam was riding as he went to see Balak king of the Moabites, against Gods will.. God caused it to talk to Balaam when Balaam beat it.. Balaam did not know that the donkeys refusal to go forward was what saved Balaam from certain death..

Here since my other thread about Mythical Creatures was shutdown for reasons I don't want to go into for fear that it will happen again, here are my two favorite songs about unicorns and one of movies my favorite movies that I enjoy with unicorns in them.

Leviathan was a Canannite God whom Molech over threw from the sea. His Cannannite name was Yamm.
The story is echoed in scripture for those of us familiar with it.

I think drangons and unicorns were the name given to some animal. We already have the water dragon, its a lizard. And a unicorn is probably a rhino or something, not a mythical horse.

I used to have a friend who swore a unicorn was always appearing to her. Like an Ally McBeal thing. She was not a very spiritual or religious person, not inclined to paranormal or New Age stuff, so it was very strange for her to say this. She'd even point it out to me, of course I never saw a thing.

Why Does The Bible Mention Unicorns?
Now, this is not a real creature. This animal is totally fictitious. None of these are alive today and no scientist has ever found a fossil of one. However, unicorns are mentioned in the King James version of the Bible 9 times, in 5 different books, by at least 5 different authors: by Balaam, Moses, David, Isaiah, and even God himself in the book of Job. These are the verses that mention unicorns:
Numbers 23:22 “God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.”
Numbers 24:8 “God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.”
Job 39:9 “Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?”
Job 39:10 “Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?”
Psalms 29:6 “He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.”
Psalms 92:10 “But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.”

Unicorns are not mentioned in any of the modern translations. Only in the King James version are they mentioned. Most of the modern translations say “wild ox.” Some translations even say “buffalo.”
However, many Christian apologists are insistent that the King James Version is the most accurate of all the English translations. So because of this, some people, especially atheists, like to scoff at the Bible and make fun of it as a book of myths and fairy tales.
However, it is important to understand that the definition of the word “unicorn” has changed over time.
If you get an old 1828 Noah Webster’s Dictionary, which is the very first edition dictionary that Webster came out with about 200 years ago, and look up the word “unicorn” it says:
Unicorn – An animal with one horn; the monoceros. this name is often applied to the rhinoceros.
(This 1828 dictionary can be accessed free online. Just go to Google.com and type in “Noah Webster 1828” and it will be one of the first links that pop up.)
Notice how this 200-year-old definition of the word “unicorn” says absolutely nothing about a horse. It says nothing about a horse-like animal, or a mythical animal, or a fictitious creature. It says absolutely nothing about mythology whatsoever. But rather, it says that this is a name that is often applied to the rhinoceros.
Now, anyone who has ever seen a rhinoceros knows that a rhino has two horns — a larger one up front, and a smaller one behind. So, how could a rhinoceros be considered a unicorn?

I'm not familiar with Lotan. I'll look him up tonight in my ANE book.
Yamm was a sea monster who wreaked havoc on sailors etc.
And yes, I do see echoes of Yamm in the verses Anto9us posted.

I just looked up Lotan from Wiki and it looks like he is Yamms serpent. Again, I'll read the original text tonight. He probably has a different name, so I'll look for 7 heads. And no, I don't understand the Wiki in the same light as the author when it comes to Taimat etc.
I'd also like to mention that in Genesis 1, the world was covered in deep water. In biblical thought, the deep water is a metaphor for chaos and is also echoed throughout scripture. This is Yamms territory, for God created Leviathan. Only Eden was without chaos, and it was humanities job to subdue, and by doing so, expand the harmony within Eden.
We see Jesus calming the sea, just as YHVH took care of Leviathan and in Revelation, we see the Sea giving up it's dead.
