Bible Study Universalist Lies ...

O

Hi, Tony!
Today God defies the "universalist" lies about the salvation of devils! Here are the "ground rules" for the challenge?

KJV Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.

Psalm 19: 7 The law of the Lord [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord [is] sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord [are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord [is] pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord [is] clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord [are] true [and] righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired [are they] than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: [and] in keeping of them [there is] great reward.

KJV 1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Matthew 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

If YOU or any blind "universalist" believes that devils will be saved, defend your deception! You must prove it by "it is written" just as prophets and wise men have done throughout time. When the devil challenged Jesus on the mount of temptation, both used the written scriptures to make their points. Here is my scriptural record that cannot be broken by "universalist" deceit:

1. Isaiah 14:14:21,22, 24:5,6,16-22
2. Enoch ch. 10-16
3. Jesus in Matthew 23:33, 25:41
4. Jude 1:6-16
5. 2 Peter 2:4-6, 3:7,12,13
6. Revelation 19:20,21
7. Psalm 37:10
8. Ezekiel 28:14-19

Conclusion:
God will exterminate the kingdom of devils and they will cease to exist. Hence the Spirit calls them "The beast that was, and is not, and yet is" mocking them because of their pending demise.

What is your SCRIPTURAL proof to show that devils will be saved from extermination? Bring it on! The scriptures we present cannot be broken! I defy any "universalist" dead or alive to meet this challenge with "it is written". Your thoughts and guess-work and human reasoning will not cut it here! Isaiah 55:8-10. How can YOU make Lucifer "live" when God said He would make him cease to exist?! Ezekiel 28:14-19.

Prove to me that God is a liar in this matter! Show us where YOUR reasoning is better than God's reasoning, and YOUR IDEAS granting devils life have more power to create "reality" than God's conclusions! I want to see this! Do not hide under the woodwork! Bring on your proof that the kingdom of devils will be spared and all my scriptures are wrong!

Get as much help as you can, Tony! This is very interesting! You will find that those who push these lies CANNOT meet this challenge! I will grind them to powder! When it come to universalism, do you really KNOW WHAT IT IS? I am not a "universalist"!

Good News

John,

Hi John, I agree that the ground rules should be "what the Scriptures teach" concerning this, or any Biblical subject. I believe texts should not be taken out of context---for then, almost anything could be "proved."

There are numerous scriptures extolling the importance of knowing and believing God's Word, and you listed a number of them: very good.

Something that helps my perspective in subjects like this, or others, is to remember that God, through Christ Jesus, created the universe including all creatures in it, including all spirit beings, such as demons, angels, and the devil.

I ask myself, is God Sovereign or isn't he? Could not He eliminate Satan and his ilk at any time and thus, free the world of his influence?

Is it God's plan that, to show His infinite love and grace, He has allowed mankind to sin and die and to be thwarted by an adversary, even Satan, yet in the end He, God will conquer all enemies through Christ Jesus, and there will be no evil, no dying, anywhere in the Universe?

Or, was God surprised when Adam and Eve fell and sin and death entered the world? And was God helpless when He created Satan and placed him in the garden of Eden where he influenced Eve then Adam to disobey God? And if this is true, then Satan is the victor, for the vast majority of God's created beings are still sinners, and would be in torment in some "hell" for eternity?

Of course, these are philosophical questions and the truth must be as proclaimed in the Written Word.

John, I have studied all the eight scriptures you refrence, and, IMO, the only one that describes the devil's judgment penalty is Rev.20:10 (which you didn't reference).
Some comments about each one:
1. Isaiah 14 is a taunt against the king of Babylon. In his mind he was a god and could ascend to the skies, etc. But, Isa. 14:15 tells us he was brought down to Sheol, the grave. So, he died. No where do we read that Satan, the devil can die. (See Jer.51:53; Dan. 4:22; Matt. 11:23 etc).
Isa. 24:5-6 are part of the context describing the devastation of the land and its inhabitants. Nothing to do with destruction or annihilation of the devil.

2. You refer to Enoch ch. 10-16 and there is too much to read right now. But I thought it interesting that the author wrote in verses 10:18-22 that after the flood the whole earth would be filled with righteousness, and there would be no more sin or punishment ever more: "18 And then shall the whole earth be tilled in righteousness, and shall all be planted with trees and 19 be full of blessing. And all desirable trees shall be planted on it, and they shall plant vines on it: and the vine which they plant thereon shall yield wine in abundance, and as for all the seed which is sown thereon each measure (of it) shall bear a thousand, and each measure of olives shall yield 20 ten presses of oil. And cleanse thou the earth from all oppression, and from all unrighteousness, and from all sin, and from all godlessness: and all the uncleanness that is wrought upon the earth 21 destroy from off the earth. And all the children of men shall become righteous, and all nations 22 shall offer adoration and shall praise Me, and all shall worship Me. And the earth shall be cleansed from all defilement, and from all sin, and from all punishment, and from all torment, and I will never again send (them) upon it from generation to generation and for ever."
In other words, the author could visualize universal salvation.

3. In the first Matt. reference, Jesus is proclaiming woes upon the scribes and Pharisees. Nothing more
In the second reference (25:41), the parable of the sheep and goats, the goats are people of the nations on the earth, and will be cast into the eternal (eonian) fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Nothing here said about the devil being in it.

4. Jude 6-16: In verse 6 the sinning angels are said to be kept in eternal (eonian) chanins of darkness awaiting their judgment. Nothing said about the devil, or that the angels were, or will be annihilated.

5. 2 Pet. 2:4-6: Here Peter is prophecying that the sinning angels (same as Jude 6) are kept in hell (Tartarus--Greek), a place of deepest gloom, until they are to be judged. Again, nothing to do with the devil or annihilation.

6. Rev.19:20-21 tell the fate of the beast (anti-christ) and the false prophet: they are captured after Christ's return and thrown alive into the lake of fire. Nothing to do with the devil.

7.Psalm 37:10: This is a Messianic Psalm, encouraging the Israelites to not fret because of the wicked, "Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more...etc." The "wicked" are their enemies in the nations; Not devils.

8. Well, this is another passage that many theologians believe goes beyond the lamination to the king of Tyre, to be describing the Satan and his fall.
After my research, I've concluded that, starting at chapt. 27 of Ezek., the description of the glory and downfall of Tyre, and it's leaders, is set forth. Certainly using a lot of metaphorical language. Nothing to do with Satan's fall.
For no where in the scripture do we read of Satan being cast to the earth (28:17), until Revelation
12:4, 7-9, which, being the day of the Lord, is still future.

CONCLUSION: I find no scriptures that tell of the annihilation of the devil and his spirit kingdom.

This statement doesn't make sense: "Hence the Spirit calls them 'The beast that was, and is not, and yet is' mocking them because of their pending demise."
First, you say "them" plural, then you quote "beast" singular.
The beast is the anti-christ, singular. He received a death blow (was), was dead for some period (probably very short), then was raised to life by the dragon (and yet is). See Rev.13:3, 12.
