WALK THE LINE!

Man..it's @ 2 weeks since I saw this great movie...

Oscar night's soon...

& here we are...

the 1st day of Lent...

& no-one's yet begun a thread @ this biopic...
It opens saying it's based on the 2 books, Johnny Cash, The Autobiography & The Man In Black

The film just takes his eventful, fascinating life up to when he marries June Carter, & ends saying that they went on touring & performing for the next 35 years

That 35 years is, I'm sure, in the books & is the most fruitful & fascinating part

See review on http://www.hollywoodjesus.com/current.htm

Must go!

I just rented it last night anf thought it was very good. I was never a fan of Cash but the movie was so well done it didn't matter. Reese truly did deserve that Oscar.

Walk The Line was a good movie. The could not have picked someone better to play Johnny Cash.

I didn't care for the guy who played Johnny either, and I thought he should have lipsynced the songs.
Plus those songs get stuck in your head and it's really hard to get rid of them!! I'm still singing 'walk the line' a week later!!!! :-?
The movie was ok.

Hmmm, well I thought Joaquin Phoenix was perfect for the part and thought he did a wonderful job, he even sang well. Anyway just thought I would point out that The Thing said:

Oops, you're right I misread what he said. Sorry about that.

Though I somewhat like Reese Witherspoon as an actress (I first saw her in A Far Off Place with Ethan Embry), I think Joaquin Phoenix was more deserving of the Oscar nomination than she was.

I definitely liked her as June Carter and I thought her singing/yodeling was really good, but I didn't think she had to do much emotionally acting-wise. Almost anyone could have said, "I don't love you", or "Baby, baby, baby, baby" with that same conviction, as well as countless other lines.

I haven't seen Transamerica--and I'm not quite sure if I want to just yet or at all, but I think Felicity Huffman's performance looked more challenging that Mrs. Witherspoon. But I'm happy for her nonetheless, because she comes across as a really sweet and genuine person. Hopefully in the future she get roles that require more of a stretch for her than Sweet Home Alabama,Legally Blonde, or Just Like Heaven.

I never saw Election Day. Was she any good in that?
