The only scripture I remember where Christ tried to show HIS worth (if worth is the right word ) is on the account of the Triumphant Entry.

Why do people always want to feel special?

Two reasons (there may be others) why a woman would dress elegantly: to appear unique or special or to intimidate fellow women...or if sexily dressed to attract the opposite sex. Also men dress elegantly and gorgeously to attract a woman or to feel woow.

Dressing apart...all people do in one way or the other has the element of self-worth in it.

He was born in a manger.

Joh 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Mat 26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.

Jesus did not exhibit pride, but John 12:14 says, And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Joh 12:15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.

Thank you

What's wrong with self esteem?
Self-esteem can be dangerous. The Bible says we "esteemed Christ, stricken." But we were wrong. We had it totally backward.
We are often just as wrong when we "esteem" ourselves to be more (or, sometimes, even less) than we are in reality.

Low esteem = inferiority complex?

Low esteem = inferiority complex?
Not necessarily. But what we all should be aiming for is "Accurate Assessment"............. and then, the hardest part, "acceptance", and "appreciation." (Not from others, but of ourselves.)

"Can" be dangerous, not "is" dangerous.

There's nothing wrong with self-esteem. Unless of course it is muddled by lusts of the flesh.

The problem with SELF-esteem, is the first word. Just the way SELF-righteousness is a problem.

What's wrong with realizing self worth? While we are to be humble and contrite of heart, we also have very much worth. Who here thinks that God makes bad investments?

He took a big fat gold bar from heaven (to put it mildly) and traded it for a piece of trash, in us?

I don't think so. If our Father in heaven thought that it was a good investment to trade the life of His only begotten son...so that you can live...what does that tell you about your worth in Gods eyes?

Self-esteem is simply a term used in physiology. You know this.
imo
God does not want us going around esteeming ourselves as stricken but as victorious in Christ.
If we esteem ourselves above someone else or worse yet above the Lord, as in self-righteousness, then we have gone beyond what is a healthy view of ourselves. But a low self-esteem can be just a dangerous. It can cause us to go around living a defeated life rather than a joyous life in Christ.

Remove self-esteem from this verse and explain it's meaning.

Matthew 10
31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Matthew 10

.
31-"A" Do not fear therefore: your father has declared you are of more value than many sparrows.

Now, let's look at our human value of one sparrow. What is it up to now, maybe $10 at the pet store? And, "many" would be, what quantity? It's a guess, on our part. So, about all we can claim is that God values us.......... period. We can't even say "why", let alone, the exact amount.

But, to Him, we are somehow, valuable.

This is why I said we should strive for the best we can assume..... "Accuracy" in our evaluation.
