Was he a believer? He was against those who went contrary to the books

being against those who went contrary to the books didn't make him a believer.

the testimony of Yhwh, the Spirit, and the Scripture all testify to Paul's call , being chosen, and accomplishing much in Christ Jesus by Yhwh's Doing and Grace according to Yhwh's Good Pleasure.

he was(and is) true a believer (currently awaiting(asleep until) deliverance from the grave at Yhwh's appointed time) a vessel of honor by Yhwh's Doing in Yeshua.

Concerning King Saul David called him the LORD's anointed even after the kingdom was taken from him.
1 Sam 24:6 And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD'S anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.

What makes you believe the officer of Saul was correct when he said this?

It was King David saying that the disposed of or ousted King Saul was the LORD's anointed to my understanding, and God allowing it to be written as scripture validating it in my opinion. :)

Is Saul and Paul the same name, but just in a different language?.

Because Paul was first call Saul. Then there was King Saul.

Saul is the anglicized version of the Hebrew name Shaul (two syllables). Paul is the anglicized version of the Latin name Paulus. They have nothing to do with each other.

This is why Christians should be very careful speaking negtive (curses) over our President(s).

a leader of any nation isn't anointed as the Hebrew kings were. saul was anointed by god in the bible, ie frankincense was poured over the king. was any of the leaders of America done that way? NO. respect yes but again it also works with the same spirit that saul had as the spirit of the lord departed. cant take a bible verse out of context.
romans 13 would be better used for that idea. when it was written rome was very corrupt.

unlike the puritans whom thought they had a promise from god to be in the new world. I see America being blessed because of the church doing what it should have not because some covenant god made with America.

I did not think the US was even a nation thousands of years ago. What has US got to do with anything?
some believe that the leaders of America be it good or bad are anointed by god. I do believe god has a hand in all nations but since we don't anoint kings as they did with saul. then how can we use anointed of god( Christ) yes that is what moshiac means. if Obama is a moshiac then show me.

Another meaning for the word anointed is "chosen one." The Bible says that Jesus Christ was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit to spread the Good News and free those who have been held captive by sin (Luke 4:18-19; Acts 10:38). After Christ left the earth, He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit (John 14:16). Now all Christians are anointed, chosen for a specific purpose in furthering God's Kingdom (1 John 2:20). "Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee" (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).

Obama wasn't chosen by god. he doesn't even believe in the bible as fully written. if I pick and choose what bible chapters and books to believe that makes jesus a liar. if a Christian supports gay marriage and im not talking as a libertarian does. but one whom says that we should marry them based on love. he cant be a Christian. if you want to call Obama a messiah then be my guest. can Obama be used of god. since I hold office

since I hold office that makes me over you. I am appointed by dod to hold the rank I do. if I was an e-7 it would be signed by the potus. yet soldiers are mocked often. doesn't make it right, the concept doesn't just apply to presidents, all leadership to the employee acting on their behalf.

No one answered my question. Are we talking about King Saul or Paul?

Thanks Eugene, frankly I am extremely weak in my knowledge of the Samuels, the Kings, and the Chronicles. Reading them through is just not sufficient. :neutral

Regarding King Saul:
King Saul was God's chosen one to lead the Nation of Israel. He was plagued by an evil spirit that brought him into madness. He suffered from manic depression. He was jealous of Samuel when he saw that God was with him.He tried to kill Samuel.King Saul strayed away from God.
