Watch Out for the Know-It-Alls

There are always know-it-alls out there who lead people astray. Only one human being knew it all and that was Jesus Christ. His teachings can be found in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Bible.

One, or more, know-it-alls will probably complain about this post.

I just started this forum today so I'm unfamiliar of whom you're speaking too/about. But if I may, I think we can all learn something from one another. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing from the Word of God Romans 10:17. Over the years I may have read the same passage a hundred times, and yet someone can come along and provide new revelation to it. I think that we need to be able to discern the spirits as the Bible teaches, but if there is a person that knows the Bible better then the next, maybe that lesser person of Biblical knowledge should get a pen and paper and take notes.

What do you think elijah23?

God Bless

Lately I keep getting reminded how much I don't know. I've been questioning a lot of things. And with the endless points of view being slung around, the world just gets more and more confusing.

So when I see people being all "I'm right and you're wrong", I think to myself...can't you at least give that guy the benefit of a doubt that maybe he has a good reason to disagree? Just because you're sure about something doesn't mean he is.

Daily devotion is critical in the Christian life and the more we learn, the more we learn that we do not know. There may be strong personalities here in these forums, those who are willing to debate and prove-stricken those that oppose, but are they really being obedient to the Word of God?

What is more important - to teach about the Love of God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and how to obtain salvation / or quarrel over topics that do nothing but cause one to question the faith they have already?

Personally I'm not here to debate, I will try not to at all cost. But I will be a voice of reasoning and a messenger of hope to the Word of God for those that are seeking answers! And because this is about Christianity and many come from different backgrounds in the faith I will just point them to the Word and have the Spirit guide them to truth. As we mature in our faith we must be accountable for what we say and how we deliver the message. My prayer is that it's done first out of love!

<dir>1Co 3:18

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
1Co 3:19

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
1Co 3:20

And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Thank you for this response...I am in agreement with you on this topic. I read the threads everyday to learn and it sadness me. The responses are critical, judgmental and closed minded at times. We should be encouraging one another instead of using scripture to criticize one another and use scripture as a sword. I wanted to join this forum for fellowship and to learn...instead you get the opposite. Hmm..the opposite of unity is division. Maybe that is where things have gone wrong.
