Christians wishing they had the abilities of others are nightingales coveting a peacock’s beauty or soaring eagles envying the powerful legs of an ostrich. Don’t despise the unique blend of abilities bestowed on you by the keenest Mind in the universe. Stop envying the ministry of others and start clarifying your own call. If, to your thinking, that call seems insignificant, the thing to be ashamed of is not your calling but your thinking.

How often have I done this? More times than I care to remember.
If only I could be like this person or that person.

God said to me "If your focus is on being like that other person then your focus is not on Jesus and if your focus is not on Jesus then you will not see what I have given you, what I want you to do with it, be yourself because I have created you and this is my calling for you, now go live it"

So my friends I thank God for you all, because you are all unique, you have all been given a talent by our Father and I pray and ask that you all seek to be the person God has created you to be and walk in.

I still wish I could sing.
Not that I don't try...
But it's more a "joyful noise" that hurts the ears of others.

And at times I really wonder why God granted me the gifts, talents, and abilities He has...they ain't exactly related.

But whatever...right?

Absolutely. Jealousy and envy are extremely destructive, but can affect Christians quite easily. Every believer has his or her own unique set of spiritual gifts and abilities. Unfortunately, many do not fully develop them and use them.

I wish I could sing as well, actually I do sing but I'm sure that those around me who hear me, wish I would stop. I think my Elvis impression is great.

What is true though no matter how unjoyful our noise is to others when we sing that unjoyful noise to God it is music to his ears and he wants us to sing to him all the time. He loves it.

Our gifts/talents/abilities are our present from God to give and help others.

Just don't sing around me.

I don't need any help sounding bad. And the older I get the worse I sound.

Do you have any idea what it's like living in " Music City" but not being musical?

So I have been told.

Do you have any idea what it's like when living in house that the dogs starts howling when when I start singing. Maybe my dogs like Elvis.

No ones talent is greater than another as God knows what we can do as being the best for His service.
