"I am the way the truth and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me."
"Don't be sad that I am leaving you, for I am sending you a consoler."
"If you've seen me you've seen the Father as well."
I'm sorry if I'm mis quoting these verses. But I just wanted to add that there is merit in considering the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as the same. I guess it makes more sense for me to see them as different indivually but consider them the same anyways. For years growing up this is how I viewed my parents. Indivually one was my mom, and one was my dad, but over all I considered them as the same. What one said, the other agreed with and assisted with. Their decisions and their words were very much part of the other's. Or at least that's how I saw it for years.
I understand. It is confusing. Jesus is not God, but is the same as God and the only way to God. The Holy Spirit is not God or Jesus, but is the same as God or Jesus. To have one of them is to have all of them.
That's why I mentioned my parents. It was years before I realized that when I talked to one of them, that didn't mean the word got around to both of them. So maybe the idea of seeing both parents as the same (even if it's not completely true), is a decent compairsion to seeing God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. At least that's one way that helps me. And I hope it's true.
