I have "The Restored Church Of God" "Do you remember Herbert W. Armstrong?"

It's a link to their web site.

What other ads are being displayed on yours?

KSBJ is a local radio station here in Houston, TX that I listen to all the time.. I think it's cool that the advertisement "banner" is a local one

It was Westbow something or other, until I clicked into this thread, then it was Herbert Armstrong's Church banner, and now it's Christianbook.com.

When I first started posting in this forum I was thoroughly annoyed by the ads for Asian, or Chinese, or Hispanic women in heat posing seductively inviting me to click in and meet them. Later I noticed if I had been doing online shopping that the ads suddenly changed to those things I had been looking at on line. I rarely see the ads for the slutty women anymore. And they really don't track my online window shopping anymore either.

I have AdBlock+ so the only Ad that I see is the good ol'

Here's what Nick has said about that:

Supporting ChristianForums.net
Your contribution to CF by posting and contributing to discussions is very much valued, as this community is what the members make it. I (and the other staff) believe this is a fantastic ministry and fellowship opportunity between believers and those of differing beliefs.

However, just like a church, running a site like ChristianForums.net requires expenses to be paid, such as software license fees, website hosting, domain registration, and technical support etc.

There are two ways that CF earns money to pay its expenses:
 1. by members clicking on advertisements
 2. by members making online donations
No-one likes seeing the advertisements, and donations are preferable. If you feel able, it would be greatly appreciated if you helped financially support CF.net. Donating is absolutely voluntary and we hope that no-one feels pressured to donate, however if one feels convicted to, we would very much appreciate it. In addition, if there is a regular supply of donations, Greg (the owner) may consider removing the advertisements.

In Christ,
ChristianForums.net Staff.

OK, I can click on them to support CF if it helps. In my Microsoft days, I NEVER clicked on a banner, that is not unless I wanted all sorts of software loaded (and maybe even spyware and viruses) without my consent or lifting my finger.

But that was the olden days --- I have Linux now, and Android on my Nook as well, so they don't get that kind of stuff nor will anything load so I can click on anything. Those Operating Systems are safe.

"Personalised Wedding greeting cards". That one showed up after I posted a response to Thisnumbersdisconnected announcing his engagement back in February, and it keeps showing up ever since.

Nothing. Using Adblocker in Google Chrome.

I still have (after all this time) the Restored Church of God banner yet.

I found out that what appears there seems to be related to recent searches, links and cookies, so I'm glad nobody mentioned anything pornographic! :lol

I guess the CoG is for me. I'm not an official member (I only fellowship with a small group of people and no longer attend regular worship services) but I learn a lot from the CoG.

In this area, there's not many, and those I emailed do not reply so I guess I'm alone in that respect. :verysad One of these days I'll find a Sabbath-keeping/ feast keeping church, and that's my inclinations, and Yahweh knows that. But for now I'm keeping things alone.

There's an ad for an outdoor equipment shop now.
Funny, most of the advertisment banners I get are in German. Sometimes I get a banner for some online college offering English lessons. Saying something like "Finally learn good English!" Wonder what that's supposed to mean. :grumpy

I went panning for gold(found a little color) and searched for the area on the internet to see if it had a updated claim on it.

So my add is "top 10 metal detectors for finding Gold."

tim-from-pa, I would think the admins of the site would limit what ads that show up on this site, so no worries about anything "inappropriate" would appear.

Personalised add software is really swift and clever.
Look what I saw a few minutes ago:

(the advert is from a web service streaming TV shows and movies, offering me a 30 day free testing periode. I could watch season 1-4 of The Big Bang Theory. But I won't because I have the DVDs anyway. ;))

Mines about banking. Hey Gr8grace, I go metal detecting for a hobby over here in Australia. Found some bits myself the other day too! Good fun huh! Love it when I find some real smooth river washed bits perched up high on a hillside and think, wow this here must have been deposited by the great flood. Amazing how much evidence there is of the great flood when you look around, especially when prospecting. Its weird, to me, that so many prospectors I have met are atheist when there is so much evidence for God all around them in what they do!
