What are you listening right now?

Red. But since I was stuck outside, all I saw from them was a couple of the band members coming out to say hi. Oh well. I got a good deal on one of their albums. xD

questdriven:

Oh well.

So did you get to meet any of the October Glory band members when you went to the other concert? (Currently four men and a woman, I think.)

Blessings.

Forward Motion, by Relient K

chorus said:
Cause I struggle with forward motion
I struggle with forward motion
We all struggle with forward motion
Cause forward motion is harder than it sounds
Well everytime I gain some ground
I gotta turn myself around again
It's harder than it sounds
Well everytime i gain some ground
I gotta turn myself around again
Kinda sounds like me...xD

questdriven:

BTW, do you happen to know where the Relient K guys are based?

Blessings.

Fallen Man, by Relient K

Because the judge of you is someone I could never be,
Is why you should thank the Lord that it is Him, and it's not me.

Don't give up, it's not the end,
There's hope for every fallen man,
To pick themselves up when they think they can,
Because with every passing second comes a second chance.

Don't know. I could look it up easily, though. Just a sec.
Canton, Ohio[/QUOTE]

questdriven: Oh okay, ty; I could have looked it up, too, I suppose. Particularly when it comes to hard rock - especially Christian hard rock - you seem like a very knowledgeable woman anyway; it's why I asked, really.

Don't suppose you would have met any of the Reliant K guys, either? (I guess they're all men.)

Blessings.

Re. the lyrics here; I think it needs to be clear always, of course, that if it's a case of fallen people picking themselves up it has to be by God's grace through faith in Christ, rather than by their own efforts, of course! :)

Blessings.

No, never. Never heard of them having a concert anywhere nearby, either.

Currently listening to Relient K's When I Go Down. Love the second half of the song:
Any control I thought I had just slips right through my hands
While my ever-present conscience shakes its head and reprimands me
Reprimands me
Then and there
I confess
I'll blame all this on my selfishness
Yet you love me
And that consumes me
And I'll stand up again
And do so willingly

You give me hope, and hope it gives me life
You touch my heavy heart, and when you do you make it light
As I exhale I hear your voice
And I answer you, though I hardly make a noise
And from my lips the words I choose to say
Seem pathetic, but it's fallen man's praise
Because I love you
Oh God, I love you
And life is now worth living
If only because of you
And when they say that I'm dead and gone
It won't be further from the truth

When I go down
I lift my eyes to you
I won't look very far
Cause you'll be there
With open arms
To lift me up again
To lift me up again

Chaplet of divine mercy; both the traditional and the contemporary one. Makes me sob when I listen to them it really hits home.

However I still listen to a little of contemporary music now and then....haven't been able to shake it from my system yet. Smashing pumpkins, reo speed wagon, Fleetwood mac, dishwalla, white lion, etc.

Praise be to GOD the heavenly father and his son lord JESUS CHRIST forever>>>>>>>>>>

What If His People Prayed, by Casting Crowns

What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captives free
And not let Satan have one more?

What if the church, for Heaven's sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took a stand upon God's promise
And stormed Hell's rusted gates?

What if His people prayed
And those who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face, yeah
And turn from their own ways?

And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way?
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day

What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth?
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do?

What if His people prayed
And those who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face, yeah
And turn from their own ways?

He said that He would hear
His promise has been made
He'd answer loud and clear, yeah
If only we would pray

If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray
If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray

What if His people prayed
(If My people called by my name)
And those who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face, yeah
(If they'll humble themselves and pray)
And turn from their own ways?

He said that He would hear
(If My people called by my name)
His promise has been made
He'll answer loud and clear, yeah
(If they'll humble themselves and pray)
If only we would pray

What if His people prayed?
(If My people called by my name)
(If His people would pray)
(If they'll humble themselves and pray)
(If My people called by my name)

Good lyrics.

I think Casting Crowns would be described broadly as soft rock, right? They tend to be very melodious, anyway.

Blessings.
Yeah. Think this is one of their more upbeat songs, though.
