What bible verses should I read for this problem?

I feel depressed, humiliated, ugly, very, very, insecure, stupid, and neglected. Are there any bible verses that I could read? When I try to get closer to God, I get knocked back down repeatedly. It has come to the point where that if anything bad happens to me (even if it's small like people making fun of me) I feel like dying because I don't want to be in these recurring situations. Are there even any bible verses for this feeling?

Try Psalms, King David felt many of these same emotions believe it or not. His faith in God pulled him through many adverse situations in his life, even when he had brought some of them on himself. God is faithful and will hear your cries.
If you enjoy singing try singing some of them. :)

Sometimes it's really hard to look at ourselves the way God sees us. It makes it more difficult when we try to live up to the standards and expectations, or worse yet the humiliations others can put us through.

The first verse that came to mind was psalms 139:14

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

You were created in the Image of God and it was God who knitted you together in your mothers womb. God's works are wonderful, and you are God's workmanship.

We don't always live the way we should, and others don't always treat us the way God would have us be treated. That whole, "Treat others as you would like to be treated" can be very subjective, and as such, very hurtful at times as well.

May you know that God will keep you, and he loves you. It's hard to believe sometimes, and I know this personally. But it is true. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Hi InfiniteJewel,
It can be painful to be made fun of, but what is most painful is when we make fun of or otherwise hurt ourselves by thinking mean thoughts about ourselves.
Jesus taught that the greatest commandments are to love God and to love others AND ourselves. (Matthew 22: 36-40)
Why do you think Jesus commanded you to love yourself?
I imagine it might be because how you love yourself is the base from which you are able to love God and love others, & to feel God's and others' love for you.

A few more scriptures to consider...

"Be still and know that I am God." -Psalm 46:10
When you are still, you will be more likely to feel God's love for you, and be better able to love yourself.
"Charity never faileth." -1 Cor 13:8
Charity is the pure love of Christ... consider how Christ would consider you, InfiniteJewel.

"Pray most earnestly." -1Thes 3:10
Always pray - even when you are not thinking/saying prayer, have it in your heart to want to know and do God's will.
"Who will stand for truth?" -Psalm 119:160
InfiniteJewel, you are not the only one who feels depressed and ugly... when you realize the beauty God created in you, help others realize it of themselves, too!

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man." -Psalm 118:8
We have a tendency to care more what others think, than what God thinks... but learn to overcome this.
"The Lord looketh on the heart." 1Samuel 16:7
God doesn't care what you look like, or what fame, money, power or material posessions you've acquired - God cares about your heart.

Sometimes I like reading the Prophet Isaiah for uplifting.

Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
Isaiah 1:18
My well-beloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill.
Isaiah 5:1
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
Isaiah 6:1
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips.
Isaiah 6:5
Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
Isaiah 6:8

Here I am, Lord. Send me.

Nobody is "qualified" to serve. Isaiah was a Prophet's Prophet, and a Statesman. He was comfortable in the company of Royalty. From his lips were pronounced both blessings and woes. In the Presence of the Almighty, from his own mouth came a cursing, "Woe to me, for I am undone!"

If such a man were to feel this way, how would I fare? My thoughts turn to another man, that of Righteous Job and his thinking about righteousness, yet the Lord spoke to him from out of the whirlwind, saying, "Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge?" How would I like to be addressed in such a manner? The Lord almighty must have upheld Job even as a series of 60 questions were asked of him. Sometimes I cry out to the Lord, that He sustain me with "raisin-cakes" and apples from His hand. There are times when He will draw us into being what could be called "lovestruck" and I ponder these things while looking into one of my favorite books of all, the love-poem called, "The Song of Solomon." There comes the answer to a question unasked, "How may I find thee?" -- there we are told in so gentle a manner as to break one's heart, "If you, O most fair of all women, do not know, then seek me where my shepherds feed my flocks." Can we not all empathize with the feeling, "Do not look upon me..." expressed in the beginning? The Lord looks upon hearts.

Some will say that the title, "the Beloved" is well deserved for the Apostle John, and I especially love to listen to his simple reasoning, "Little children, do not be confused... those who do good are good."

Yes, Psalms are where I would go.

There is an amazing range of human emotion and circumstance in the Psalms, so relevant, so contemporary.

Genesis 1:26-27
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

We are created in the image of God. No matter what other people say about you, you have immense value in God's sight.

For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

When Peter looked to Jesus he was able to walk on water. When he looked at the circumstances he sank into the water. Look to Jesus.

There are no particular Bible verses above all others for your situation. God's will is that His people would be in His Word; day after day continually. His Word is what is most important to them; ranking high above all that they may think or feel, or the situations presented in their lives. As we become immersed in God's Word, we may find, by His grace, that we are lifted up from all our worldly troubles and begin in the path of trusting in His Sovereign power and strength; not our own; walking in the strength and power of Christ, just as David expressed in the book of Psalms.

unfortunately there were till now millions of people with such a feeling because of the fact that they were affected by the system of spiritual/religious iniquity a.k.a. the "sin", and the flam/ruse therein consisted in substitution of the right distinction between the good and the evil with wrong, so the best means of liberation is the faith in the true God and Jesus

Blessings

Feeling bad is not tantamount to being bad. Conversely, feeling good is, ultimately, contingent on being good. Be a good person, infinite, as far as you know how. That is the best medicine.

Also, don't ever count the number of people who have failed to value, acknowledge or love you. Rather, count the number of people you have valued, acknowledged and loved.

Be blessed.
