What courses are you taking in school?

Awesome! :)

What are your favourite eras of history? I'm really into World War 1, Russian revolution, the Weimar Germany years and JFK. We're just starting the World War 2 - In the pacific topic in history and it looks pretty awesome! :) I've never been a really big fan of ancient history though.

We're the opposite. Ancient history is my favorite. Reading about dead bodies being discovered underground is fun! And so is reading about Greece fighting Persia and king Xerxes(who was the same man married to Esther) yelled at the sea and told it to obey him while he sat on a throne on top of a mountain watching his people fight!!

I also love reading about the Renaissance.

I actually have a hard time with more modern history. It's hard for me to read :sad But it's pretty neat. My favorite historical figures are probably Joan of Arc and this one greek guy who lived on the streets in a bath tub and yelled at people.

Here's something I found about him. "The athenian cynic philosopher Diogenes was the person who lived in a bathtub, had as company a dog and carried a lantern day and night seeking for the man in the darkness of life. "
haha!

Nick, tell me a particular story you like in History best! I'm willing to listen! I love the middle ages!

Pard, Biblical history is amazing, isn't it? Reading about Kind David is one thing that gets me glued to my Bible. His story is so epic, but then you can gain so much from it.

Now I'm super excited! Ahh!!

Wow, a lot of history lovers here, including myself :approve

My favorite topic of all time is the russian revolution, I find it very interesting.

I can't remember much from the middle ages. We learnt general stuff about castles etc. That was four years ago. That's the only year the teach it - 8th grade. :sad

Oh ok. Sorry if I confused you. I didn't strictly mean that I wanted to hear about the middle ages XD I remember that I loved the middle ages, but to be honest, I can't actually remember what happened. I just remember liking it.

I also like literature a lot. My lit teacher is my history teacher's wife, and she too writes her own text books. It's pretty crazy. By the time I graduate (which will be in 2011), I'll have taken 4 lit classes and 5 history classes.

My favorite book I've had to read for school is either The Giver, which I read in the 8th grade actually, or Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.

Yeah, same here. People built castles, and I don't think they did much else. :P :D

You didn't really name your cat Rasputin did you?!

I think I'll name my son Mufasa! Just kidding...... :lol

By the way, I'm probably the most gullable person ever. My Lit teacher had to remake the syllabus because we had so many snow days. The school decided to add on another day because of how many we lost. On the new syllabus it said that I had to turn in a 30pg essay on the last day. She even said we'd have to write part of it in class!...it didn't click in my head that the last day was just added on to the year and that it was a joke. All of the students realized I believed her, and played along like it was for real, as did my teacher. I went home and begged my mom to let me drop out of the class and she looked at the syllabus and just laughed at me! It was a lie the whole time!
