What did you do for Christmas?

We had 12 teens at the Christmas dinner today. I had invited them for an evangelistic dinner to my appt. for the New Years. Those teens won't be at clubs and pubs, but will be touched by God at our service. One girl told us today, that she wanted to go to the club yeaterday, but after talking with us she changed her mind. Thank you, Lord!
What did you do for Christmas?
 
Being single and liking it that way. I closed my doors and drapes, shut the world outside my door. And responded to a few posts on this forum.

I am enjoying a very relaxing day, doing no more than what I want to do.

Praise God for Romans 14:6
He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

I am one of those who abstains.

Mine isnt as :christian:

since I live wiht my mother and 2 brothers (when not at college) I sat at home, woke up at umm, 10? we are a sort of secular familly, My mom believes in a higher power, my youngest brother is 14 and is atheistic/agnostic. My brother John is whatever is peacful. He doesnt agree with any religions really, But takes more of a philosophical approcah to life.

anywho back to us.

we got up, cooked some sausage and cinnamon rolls, ate a lil read the paper, had some odd talks, then we oppened up the gifst, some pretty coolstuff. I got some ping pong paddles, a pair of pants, and some other not really expensive little stuff (ya, my familly isnt that rich at all) so about $50 maybe in presents, Still cool though, cuz thats about what i spent on my brothers and mom (a hunting knife, hippie shirt, and some interesting gifts for my mom)

then we sorta just messed around i drank a bit and played soem scrabble, with my 17 year old bro, umm, went in our hott tub.. and then basically, we cleaned out our basement.

We are soo weird (btw, srry for the really bad spelling , a lil too much drinking in solstice celebration (we all wated till this time to celebrat erelay)))

Shame on you! You just drank "a bit"? I drank a lot---- for four days in a row, and I'm the SS superintendant and Bible teacher at our church. Ah well, we all have our "foibles".

Hey Peace--- one thing. Do like me. Just don't drink and drive. Don't want you hurt. Otherwise--- just have fun--- New Year's is coming! :smt078

I spent the day with my kids who live in PA , the grandchildren were a bundle of energy and fun to watch. We had a wonderful meal , called others in the family and put them on speaker phone so all could talk to them. All and all it was a most pleasant day.



Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.

haha. Well, I also am not of legal age, so drinking really isn't the best thing for me. So, I only got a little "buzzz"
and then helped paint the basement! bah!

And you brag about it plus make the lame excuse "we all have our "foibles"? :roll:

Plus you are encourage an under aged person to drink "a lot" but just don't "drink and drive".

What kind of discernment is that?

I wouldn't want my grandchildren in your Sunday school.

To be fair, I do not think He knew I was underage.

and of course, drinking and criving is dangerous/stupid AND illegal. People know it and yet still do it. I think it is good that he is ensuring that people do not do both together.

Also, I do not think his idea of drinking is to do keg-stands, funnel, and as many shots as I can in an hour. I think it is more of a casual social drinking.

Sorry about that--- and I'm not sure if you are a guy or not--- never mind. Don't want to know (watchful eyes these days). Instead, no matter what, you can do like my kid and join a rock band or something. That's even more fun. :-D

Oh Oh. Too much from Xmas yet...... :smt078 Feel better now. That's the reason for the season. Back to my Bible study. :-D
 
I spent my Christmas with my family. It was fun. We remembered who died for our sins and that He came to earth and humbled Himself and became a man.

My granddaughters came over and we wanted to be good examples to them.

Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1 Corinthians 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

It is important that Christians remember that the lives they live are watched by the young. It is important to remember that the young can see where our hearts are focused.

Love means to die to self and live for Christ.
 
Amen! Christistian people need to follow the Word. I'm not judging you, but if you don't chose to live as a Chrisitan, why do you teach the Bible? I just want to understand you.

Well, thanks for wanting to understand me. But let's understand the circumstances instead and that will shed some light. Drinking a sin? No. I'm I really drunk? I doubt it. I get happy enough for a "Merry heart" which is compared to experiencing the Holy Spirit (now how does one think those bible guys could relate to that unless they experienced it?). But just to make sure, I don't ever drive--- I wait until everyone's tucked in for the night. So I am doing nothing illegal. In addition, I have a sensitive stomach, so it limits them for me. Paul's advice is for a "little" wine. My stomach tells me when there's too much--- "alot" for me is actually 4 drinks max. There are guys who can gulp down 6-packs in the morning, afternoon and again in the evening. Now that's really drunk.

Maybe not a sin but gluttonous instead (i.e. a tad in excess)? Possibly. But no worse than countless Christians who "follow the Word" who otherwise tip the scales at 350 pounds. Of course they've been fighting their "glandular" problem for years. I have a little car, and it's no fun to practically have to use a plunger to seat them thru the door (not that I do this regularly, mind you). And what about Jesus? Everyone knew he must have been a drunkard because they saw him laughing with that drink in his hands. (Matthew 11:19)

And in my classes (I actually am letting a friend teach this season) I don't bring up morality issues. I lean more on the history, prophecy, and meaning of the Law (types and shadows of things to come). In addition, there is multiple witness to the written Word of God whose Word is written in the stars, stone, and in these last days by His own Dear Son.

I can't possibly derail all that with some of my foibles---- God's too big for that.
