Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsakethee.
Note "location." Will keep most from thinking it's lord Stephen Christ, whoever that delusion is.
When Jesus ascended...He did it "on a cloud". And Him "coming on clouds" is a reference to the 18th (?) Psalm of David where he described himself as coming on clouds to the Philistines...Meaning war and destruction.
It's those pesky euphemisms and metaphorical expressions of that day in time that elude our speech patterns today.
Paul left us some very secure marks of scripture to be able to tell who is speaking truthfully from the pulpit or not. Anyone in the pulpit who can not step into Paul's shoes on these facts is more than likely a bloated egotistical liar.
Here are Paul's marks of authority:
Romans 7, the entire chapter, particularly Romans 7:17-21. Romans 8:3, 2 Cor. 12:7, Gal. 3:13-14, Gal. 5:17, Gal. 6:3, 1 Tim. 1:15. IF any believer has any questions for those in christian religious authority, they should measure their "teachers" or "claimers" to the scriptures contained herein to see if such authorities are honest to the DOWNSIDE of the scriptures. There are plenty of egotistical blowhards.
There are few who understand the self deprecation requirement to prove real authority. Romans 7:9 & 11, Luke 14:26, John 12:25.
