Isn't this a very cheap question? Yet I don't think it is that cheap to interpret.

How long can someone be in the spirit? Spirit or spirit?

In what form was John when he recieved the vision?

1 Peter 4 King James Version (KJV)
4 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

this happens before someone can be found in the spirit.

it is the 'natural' or ?normal progression in Yhvh's Word in Yeshua, but very few anywhere ever even repent fully, let alone realize that they were (as Yhvh's Word states) crucified with Yeshua HaMashiach ... ... ...

perhaps an example in real life might be the best way to illustrate.
years ago, i met younger and older members in the body of messiah Yeshua 1000 miles from my families home in the midwest.
they were joyful (really joyful, not just nor only happy, joyful in the joy of the Lord Yeshua).
they often saw each other daily.
they talked about Yeshua and Yeshua's Life and Purpose and Goals and Work, instead of the workings or doctrines of group a or group b or group c (no matter which backround they were in or had come out of, the conversation was about Yeshua and Yhvh's Plan, not about the worldly matters of the different (fleshy/carnal) groups man-made).
they abide in Yeshua. not just talk about Him. and He abides in them. (this is noted and visible to outsiders, as well as their own families and friends).
the love they have for one another is simply present without trying or vying or fanfare - the love is Yhvh's Gift, and shared freely without self-consciousness.(no self-merit nor self-recognition nor thoughts of self).
when someone visits from another place on earth, the communion in the spirit of messiah Yeshua is already present, immediate, and continual. (it's not put on, hypocritical, affected, or prejudicial).

Thanks, follower. Any tangible example, like say...a typical example of a bible character?

sheeesh Classik... John

Rev_1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Rev_4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
Rev_17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Rev_21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Act 18:24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
Act 18:25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

Gal_5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

several well known examples in http://www.biblebelievers.com/foxes/findex.htm
and
Timothy, Stephen, ecclesia in Ephesus (book of Ephesians) and so on - read and re-read 1 John, 1 Peter and Acts, Psalms 1-22.

the lives of the believers, with and without a lot of troubles, are notable for this: they're all martyrs, willingly and joyfully.
without the willingness to be a martyr, you won't find believers in Yeshua HaMashiach.
(that doesn't mean you/they give themselves into a situation to die, but that there is no considering one's life one's own, and there is no fear of death nor of consequences (even up to death) of boldly proclaiming Yhvh's Word.).

the loss of examples, the loss of leaders in the body of Christ, the loss of holiness and purity and devotion to Christ , led to many losses of souls(perhaps billions). the counterfeiter, the enemy of Christ, after he couldn't wipe out the believers by force and torture and death, turned to something much more devastating - the false promise(s) of prosperity, of blessing, and of 'respect' without having to suffer or be humiliated with Yeshua for the GOOD NEWS SAKE.

Then one can be in and out of the spirit, right?

So what is that walk in the spirit exactly compared to not walking in the spirit (I do not mean by not walking in the spirit that the individual is sinning).

It gets a little confusing

This is one of those hard to answer things...
In my life....
I have had highs and lows.... i have often felt separated from God... when i look back it is like O lord you were there.... There have been times i knew i was to pray this or that,,, I can' t explain it. Times when i know i did not obey....
Ever walk in a room and feel the fact those in the room were fighting? You can feel it.. We can also feel the power of His presence....
John the Revelator was a very spiritual man yet even he felt or knew he was in a different state... I dont know if man on this earth was meant to be continually in such a spiritual state he could/would not function as a 'normal' human...
We walk daily with Him through the highs and the lows He is the Light of our path..
I dont feel as if i have answered :neutral

You sure have touched the part I was trying to pay attention to. Thanks a lot.

I was trying to confirm this.

That is a great answer. I don't know how one can get closer than that because it is not easy to explain.
