Phillipians 1:27 This tells us that your attitude should be like Jesus Christ. We know the Beatitudes Matthew 5:1-12.Have you asked God to search your heart? Are you aware of what your attitude is?
What are some of the attitudes that come across that hurt people?

That's true. It's nothing but transforming yourself into Jesus. How do I become like him that's only when I know him and how do I know him when I read His word and get the revelation of the knowledge of Him. It's not a day's job, it's a continuing process, transforming from glory to glory

27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, 28 and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. Philippians 1:27-28

Good word Kathi!

Would someone like to actually post what "The Gospel of Christ" is..... that our conduct is to be worthy of? I don't think I've ever seen that in writing.

Jesus and John preached this -

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17

In Ancient times, even before Christ, whenever a kingdom was to overthrow another kingdom, they would announce the "Gospel" to the the city where the king of that kingdom resided.

Their "gospel" was their terms of surrender.

The army of a kingdom that was to overthrow another kingdom would surround the main city of that kingdom, so no food or supplies or could come in or out.

The Leader of the Army or the King himself would then announce the "gospel".

It went something like this:

The kingdom of Babylon is at hand, turn away from serving the king of Egypt and serve the king of Babylon or you will perish.

Many times the citizens that would want to "repent", which is come over to the other kingdom would begin pouring out of the city, to defect to the other side.

It would usually mean that you were to be a slave to the king of the conquering kingdom that was at hand, which in many cases was a life of unbearable conditions as a slave.

If a person were to repent, or turn away from the king they were now serving, and serve the king of the conquering kingdom, they would come out and bow there knee to the kingdom at hand and confess him as their master [lord[, which they would become the servant to that master.

Repent meant to turn away from the king you are now serving, and become a citizen of the kingdom at hand and the king that rules it.

You would now swear to abide by the laws of that king and kingdom.

This is a "rough" idea behind this phrase, which was familiar to the Jews at that time.

The Gospel of the kingdom of God would mean we are to turn away from the kingdom of Satan, and bow to the King of kings and confess Him as Lord [Master].

The Good news is we have a loving Master, and are becoming sons of God, and are considered as family.

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.Colossians 1:13-14

15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Mark 16:15-18

The proof you were a "believer" in the gospel of the Kingdom, was you exercised dominion and authority over the servants of the former kingdom you served.

Paul was given this to preach to the Gentiles.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

And, here I foolishly thought it was about letting Christ live his life through you.

Good mocking but you deliberately didn't ponder the subsequent words thereafter and that's called Narrowmindness.

One grace preacher was preaching " I do get annoyed when another vehicles come before my vehicle and I get terrible words in my mouth, It's only by grace..................."

So here's where attitude comes into prominence

Hate to burst the bubble of traditional thinking, but I think you will find the bible tells us that He is changing us, glory to glory..... not, we, ourselves, as you posted.

It is Him changing us, however we still have our part to do.

It's Him that teaches us...

I'm not saying this is a list of things we must do to be saved.

He does the saving, however we must begin to co-operate with Him.

Your testimony of going to the soaking prayer services was awesome.

I know some that go may act "different", and there are some who need much discernment about who is doing what in those services.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors--not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Romans 8:12-14

Ask the Lord, everyday to show you and give you wisdom to live more and more by the Spirit, who dwells in your inner man.

Praying in tongues, if you have been Baptized in the Holy Spirit is a great way to keep yourself built up on your most holy faith.

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Spending time alone, separated unto the Lord in worship, and praying to Him for your loved ones and those whom He puts upon your heart.

Keeping your mind in the word to meditate on it day and night, will give you a great desire to do His will in the word.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Learning by the Spirit to do the work of beholding...

Learning by the Spirit to do the work of dwelling in the secret place or walking in the Spirit... is something that the anointing that abides in us teaches us to do as we...
ask, seek and knock.

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1 John 2:27

I'm seeing a bit more what you mean, and I agree. The impression I first got was that head knowledge was supposed to give us information to pattern our actions after His. And the more we practiced that, the more like Jesus we got.

Trust me, I've seen plenty of that, and it is kind of scary seeing how people really believe such copying of observable traits is becoming more Christ like.

Knowledge of God's power gives us what we need to have good attitudes.

2 Peter 1:3-4King James Version (KJV)
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Yep..... It sure seemed to work for the Pharisees. Or perhaps they just thought it did, and missed the boat entirely.

The Pharisees did it to exalt themselves. Christians do this because we love God. Right?

I see where you are coming from.

I'm lost without Jesus.

I'm completely dependent upon Him for every breath I take, everyday all day.

He is my Life and my source.

The more revelation He gives me, the more I see I need Him.

Head knowledge will do nothing for us.

Revelatory understand brings us closer to Him.

God bless you brother.

Philippians 2:5 NIV & NLT says it like this, "You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.; In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:"

So how is this accomplished? Answer: The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him. [I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him.] John 14:21 AMP

What are Jesus commands? Answer:
21 And, beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God,

22 And we receive from Him whatever we ask, because we [[p]watchfully] obey His orders [observe His suggestions and injunctions, follow His plan for us] and [[q]habitually] practice what is pleasing to Him.

23 And this is His order (His command, His injunction): that we should believe in (put our faith and trust in and adhere to and rely on) the name of His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and that we should love one another, just as He has commanded us.

24 All who keep His commandments [who obey His orders and follow His plan, live and continue to live, to stay and] abide in Him, and He in them. [[r]They let Christ be a home to them and they are the home of Christ.] And by this we know and understand and have the proof that He [really] lives and makes His home in us: by the [Holy] Spirit Whom He has given us. 1 John 3:21-24 AMP

Depending 100% on Jesus and the Cross.
