What Dreams May Come

My dad just got this and I thought about going over to borrow it tomorrow. Is it any good?

Its a pretty good movie, especially early on. However, it is very far fetched as far as what we as Christians know about the afterlife.

The main problem I had with the movie is that it gives the viewer a false hope that we still have a chance to change where we (& others) spend eternity, even after death. Its just not true and it really just makes people comfortable about death under false pretenses.

Keeping all that in mind, its basically just a good "fiction" movie.

I agree. The movie seemed to give the viewer the impression that good people go to a nicer place based on their own ideas of heaven, while bad people or those who interrupted the cycle of life (ie, suicide) went to a world of suffering and loneliness. And as DkC stated, in the movie we get to change our eternity.

My memory is hazy, but I also don't recall God as being a big part of the afterlife equation in the movie.

If anything, watch it for the scenery. Many scenes look like they were contrived from various eras and styles of art. Also, watch it for the love story. While my wife and I were watching it, we couldn't help but feel like "soulmates."

I watched it last night and it was ok. I think I was more impressed with the graphics. Parts of the movie were just BEAUTIFUL! As for the love part of the storyline, yes I thought it was good.

But for the rest of it, VERY farfetched.
