For as long as I can remember, one of my prayer burdens has been for justice against the wicked.

There is a 'theme' that runs all the way through Scripture that has interested me for a very long time, that some would describe as poetic justice. Some call it reaping and sowing. Others refer to the 'Golden Rule'. For a long time I have wanted to do a study, and find all of the verses and passages that can be boiled down the bottom line "You reap what you sow."

I thought it might be interesting if I got you guys to do some of the work for me. :P I posted a few verses here that convey the idea, starting with the words of Jesus:

Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

God's promise to Abraham:
Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

No where is it spelled out as clearly as in to the tiny book of Obadiah
Oba 1:15 ¶ For the day of the LORD [is] near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

And then there is the verse that shows the laws of reaping and sowing. In other words, You reap what you sow, more than you sow, later than you sow.
Hsa 8:7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

There other passages that tell us that we will reap where someone else has sown, or sow where someone else will reap the harvest, and then this one:

Psa 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

So...do you have any favorite verses, passages, promises, or examples from Scripture of reaping the harvest good seed or bad?

Gabby, Rev. 8:1 says there will be silence in heaven for about a half hour. Why are we silent? I believe the Judgments of God will be so harsh that there will be silence for awhile. Think about it. Heaven will open up and the saints will get a panoramic view of the wicked getting slaughtered. All the Abortionists and nurses who partified in this murderous act will finally get their due. And how about all the Pedifiles in the World. Yes, we will see the wicked get theirs.

Gabby, Rev. 8:1 says there will be silence in heaven for about a half hour. Why are we silent? I believe the Judgments of God will be so harsh that there will be silence for awhile. Think about it. Heaven will open up and the saints will get a panoramic view of the wicked getting slaughtered. All the Abortionists and nurses who partified in this murderous act will finally get their due. And how about all the Pedifiles in the World. Yes, we will see the wicked get theirs.

Man's view of justice is seriously flawed in one area: man believes man is the final authority.

golfjack was glorifying God's final word on justice against the wicked. If you have a problem, I suggest you take it up with God. He has a bit clearer view of justice than we do, what with people not accepting His death for their sakes and everything.

I don't need to take this up with God, scutato. It's such comments by professed Christians that I have a problem with. This has nothing to do with God. I suggest you read golfjack's post again. If you can't see the hatred and the callousness behind the remarks then leave it as is. I don't want to get into a battle of words with you.

I don't think abortionists or pedophiles needed to be highlighted in particular, since we could easily fit in the same scenario because of the sins we've commited, but they do deserve the punishment outlined by golfjack's post.

Ultimately because of their sins, but more importantly, because they rejected Jesus' death in their place. When you reject Jesus, you choose death.

I see nothing wrong with glorifying God's righteous judgement.

Today we see many Preachers that will not preach about the Wrath of God because they want to placate the people of the world to make them feel good. We have this new age movement that says that the earth, whales in the ocean, and computers can be your God. Some like to tickle the ears of unbeliever, and will not preach the full Gospel because of Political and religious correctness. Shame on these Preachers for not preaching about God's wrath. They will have blood on their hands, and are accountible to God. I myself, don't want blood on my hands, and will always preach in boldness the truth of the Word of God.

I think Nahum 1:1-4 is appropriate here:

verse 2. The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord takes avengence and is filled with wrath. The Lord takes vengeance on His foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies.

verse 3: The Lord is slow to anger and great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

verse 4: He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.

This is the wrath and anger against Nineth. This is a walk in the Park compared to the Great Tribulation. God would have to apoligize for Sodom and Gomorah if the Great Tribulation wasn't true. The Bible says that vengeance is Mine. But we should be preaching about His vengeance so the Lost might be saved. Yes, today many Christians will have trials and tribulations. But these trials are nothing compared to the Great Tribulation. Wake up Church and all America and get on our knees and repent and be saved from this Great Tribulation.

Are you aware that many of those to whose slaughter you couldn't wait to get a ringside seat will be family and friends of those who will be among those who cheer, golfjack? Are you also aware that those who will (as you say) be slaughtered would include the likes of the kind, gentle woman from the house on the corner who spent her life caring for others but didn't accept Jesus? THESE and many other otherwise 'decent' folks will be among 'the wicked' that you are so anxious to see slaughtered, golfjack. I would say to this brand of Christianity and to the apparent 'glee' that it creates within the individual, "Get thee behind me Satan!"

Matthew 5:44 - "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..."

God's righteous judgement is a truth in the Bible that should be explored and taught. However, I get the feeling from this topic that some sit around like Mr Burns from the Simpsons, running their fingers together saying to themselves "excellent". It's my humble opinion that, as a Christian we should focus less on God's judgement (as it is His and His alone, there ain't much else too it), and focus more on His love, and how we can echo that love to others.

Not trying to be judgemental in anyway, just offering my two cents for discussion.

Did you know that the wrath of God is addressed more than His love? My goodness, this is why some believe that there is not a literal hell. When we get to heaven, do you think for one minute there will be sadness for a family member or good friend that didn't make it? No, we will have no bad memories of any lost loved ones. It's best to tell them now about God's wrath than to love them into hell.

It's best to tell them now about God's wrath than to love them into hell.

I don't believe in a literal hell where the lost will be tormented forever, golfjack. Be that as it may, it's not the wrath of God that I'm taking exception to but the underlying motive of your post. Both you and Gabby appear to take a sadistic delight in the prospect of 'the deserving' getting their 'just deserts' while you watch.

I know you didn't ask me, but I wanted to answer anyway

God is a just God; against that there is no argument (among Christians anyway). I have all kinds of little unprovable theories, but in the end, God will do what's right. For babies that had no opportunity to accept Jesus, I think one of two things will happen:

1. All babies will enter the Kingdom of God
2. God knows everything, and will judge them by how they would have reacted to being given a full life

Regarding isolation, everyone has some "feeling" of a bigger being than themselves, and they will either hate it, or seek it out. I believe they will be given a choice after death, or be judged similarly to Babies #2.

When you think about it, being given the opportunity to accept Jesus after death isn't exactly terrible. Would people change their minds if they died and God Himself asked them to believe on His Son and love Him? Any rational human would choose at that point to believe in the Son (I think deep down everyone does), but only the elect would believe on the Son. I don't think the results would be any different.

I don't believe God will send babies, retarded people, and people who have never heard the message of the Gospel, to hell. Bottom line, God is a just God, and He can see where people's hearts are. It is impossible for me to say if one goes to hell or not. Therefore, I tell people who have lost loved ones that are not right with God, God is a just God.

Listen, this has gone way off topic. The OP wants it's locked and I feel the same. If you wanna talk about the Wrath of God? Use the End Time forum.. Golfjack, I stand behind you post, more people need to hear it. If some are scared away from the Bible because of it's Word. Then they were never God's to begin with. Revelation is a difficult book for many to understand and cope with. It's not you GolfJack that they disagree with; It's actually the Word of God.. Peace to you and the others..
